I have a 76 f-100 that has a 351 w in it from an old torino my dad and I rebuilt it but It is getting some cancer and the paint is faided I am wanting to start a project with iether putting the 351w in a 93 ranger splash ( good condition ) or a 70 maverick ( project ) i don't know what to do

 

Hmmm . . .tough call.

You may want to check some parts catalogs for both the Maverick and F-100. I know there are a couple sources for older truck parts. I’m not sure about Maverick parts. Either one would be cool. I think the F-100 or Maverick would be a cooler project than the Ranger. Not that the Ranger is bad, in my opinion, but refreshing a classic is much cooler, again in my opinion. Also, not sure where you live, but a 1993 Ranger would still have to be emissions legal. The other two would not fall under emissions testing . . .at least in Cincinnati. I would lean towards the Maverick . . . .I think.

I reall like my 76 but I think that I am gonna go with the 93 ranger splash. because the 70 maverick that I was going to by ( I found out that it was a Grabber) sold for way less than the guy told me. I was thinking about getting a differant front fascia for it and give it a mini lightning look. whatya think?

go to "my controls" somewhere on the left hand side (scroll down a bit) under "Personal Profile" it says: "edit avatar settings" click it. there you can upload pix from ur computer, use a pic from the web, or use many of the avatars provided by The gracious TMS rulers :P

I believe an outfit called "total performance" has a 351 swap kit into a ranger. I remember reading an article about 10 years ago where they dropped in the old 5.8L lightning motor into a 90's Ranger. I would be concerned about emissions regs in your area.

I would personally drop that into the Maverick. That car would be a lightweight rocket.

 

I went to the this place called therangerstation.com or something it had some pretty cool kits that you could buy even kits for a 460 ranger. if anybody has experience putting 351 into a newer ranger please list some things that got in you way thanks
