Well its about time they admit shame about something!

 

This will not have any effect on the folks that have consumed the Toyota Kool-Aid. Once absorbed, resistance is futile...

Oh, and BTW, Toyota will NEVER be America's car company. I dont give a rodent's gluteous where they are built.

 

First off, none of their stupid bowing and "most humble apologies" are gonna make things right for the five people who were injured.

Second this quote is easily finished - "If you notice anything odd, let us know," he says. "Even if it only happens once, take it to your dealer." - the ending should be : "and we'll completely ignore it until you threaten us with a law suit."

 

They're still the best when it comes to quality.

yeah, i just loved the way that toyota dealers were trying to get over sticker on the priu, and now people are realizing the prius isnt all that much more efficient. just go get a new civic ex

 

Perceived quality. Talk to the folks who work on them-they still have the same sorts of problems as other cars-they are all still made of steel, glass, plastic and rubber-assembled by machines and human beings.
Besides, Ford engines do not sludge up.....

 

They have problems (all car companies do), but less than other car companies. Toyota is not good as it used to be, but still the best.

 

They have less problems because they are smaller than GM or Ford, I read somewhere (and I can't remember where) and it makes sense, that as Toyota grows, especially at the rate it is, keeping their quality up is going to be tough and more problems will arise. For their sake they should stay a bit smaller, GM and Ford have learned that lesson too late.

 

What do you mean, they're smaller?

They produce more vehicles in the world than anyone else.

 

In the US they're smaller, and their US cars are made here, not overseas.

 

Well, US market is not the only market on the world. I have many friends in Europe (I've lived there until I was 15) and Australia and pretty much everyone says that Toyota's are best there.

 

Alright, but they're still growing and their problems are still multiplying. They can't be the best forever.

 

We'll see.

They're #1 now and still best in quality. I don't know how much better they can get (in sales).

They're not going down. Not for a while.

 

Same could also be said of Ford in the late 80's early 90's. They make a top notch automobile, no question. (Though a recent drive/ride in a 2007 Camry left me wondering if this wasn't the Buick of the 21st century as far as ride was concerned. Coming from a 'soft' feel/ride perspective.)

They better pray that the UAW doesn't make any in-roads into their factories as well. Must be nice not to pay pensions/health care at the rate of the UAW workers receive. . . .

 

They don't have to worry about that, they were smart enough to build their factories in the union unfriendly deep south.

 

Are you sure it was late 80's/early 90's?

Cause I have few books about Ford's history and if I remember correctly, that period was really bad for Big 3.
