First shots of the production version. I knew it, I knew i'd like it better in a normal colour, rather than the baby blue the concept version was in.
Check out those sweet wheels:
"We saw a preview of the next XK in concept form at the 2005 NAIAS inDetroit, and now we caught the production vehicle - complete with XK badges - during a photo shoot in Cape Town, South Africa.
It was first thought that the new XK would make an appearance for the 2006 model year, but final approval on some of the design characteristics had been slow to come and the project was delayed six months, forcing the remake to be a 2007 model-year product. Codenamed X150, the new XK will have a 320-hp 4.2-liter V-8, and a supercharged XKR option will deliver around 450 hp. For the 2008 model year - or perhaps 2009 - Jaguar will bring in an SVO (Special Vehicle Operations) XKR-R version with even more power."
hahahaha, XKR-R... too funny

It's pretty good looking. I don't like it as much as the previous gen. XK, but I'd have to see it in person before making further judgements. As for power, the base 320 horses is laughable. 400 should be standard equipment for high-end sportscars these days.

I agree with zep, and I am not the biggest fan of the teardrop headlamps (similarily I think the teardrop gauges in the new Audi A6 doesn't look good either). I think the back end looks ok, but to be honest, I think this will just make the current generation look that much better and be that much more of a collectible, esp. the coupe.
Are they shooting layouts or filming a commercial?

The more I look at it the more I think the nose looks funny. Not that the parts are necessarily the problem, they were just placed in a strange manner, I can't explain it.

I agree about the headlights and grill, i'm not such a fan of them, but I think the rest is awesome. The general proportions are awesome, in my opinion. Motor Trend described it as a cat with its legs tensed, ready to pounce. Those rear haunches are sweet. I also like how the front and rear taper so that from a bit of an angle, the overhangs disappear completely

I know what is bothering me. The hood stops so far back of the grille. That straight line between the headlights, several inches above the top of the grille make the nose look farther away and hence, smaller (than is normal for a car of this size). If the hood came up to the grille I think it would look better.

Jeremy Clarkson has already driven it. When the concept was debuting at the show he had it in his driveway appaerently.
He's very enthusiastic about the car.

the Taurus has some Jaguar styling cues and not the other way around...
Here's a 60's XKE
Heres's the new one:
And what's wrong the looks of the facelifted Taurus from 2000-up? I thought it looked a lot better than the original '96 Taurus front and rear design... In fact, I think if the '96 Taurus had debuted with the Jag-like grille, it would have been a lot more popular...
