So what you are saying is that GM's interns did a nicer rendition of the GTO design over their own styling house?

I'd actually consider this one!
That's supposed to be the story....albeit unconfirmed.

For sure, this version looks way way better. However, I'm sure if it was ever produced, it would be a $35-$45k car.

Not sure if the body is too hard to produce at a reasonable price IMO. The voluptuous curves, side openings and hips would be expensive.

I keep thinkig of that camaro concept the kid did (computer generated). The body panels were so curved that it really wouldn't be feasible for production. [/b][/quote]
not really, GM hydro forms the body panels on some of the pontiacs. The solstice has it and thats a 20k car.

So what you're saying is that it wouldn't cost much at all to make them? Works for me. I want one of these babies.

The wide stance from the front view makes me think of rally cars from the 70s and 80s.

That's a GTO I would own...except it would need the BM's front end styling design.

Maybe not a lot, but still a healthy sum more than the 05.

It still needs exhaust work. The front end looks LIGHT YEARS better, though. I'm not sure about the rear hips, personally. They look a little TOO wide, IMO. The car definitely needs some hips, but not a padonkadonk, or however you spell it.

I wouldn't buy one if I had the money, but it's still a cool car.

I like it!!! Lose the lame exhaust tips, paint it carosel red with the blue/yellow '69 Judge stripes and I'd be all over it.

of course the interns would design a better looking car, but they must have been snorting something when they made that exhaust (probably tried doing a side exhaust, but new regs pretty much would kill that on a new car)

Why the heck does everyone think those exhaust pipes are ugly? You never see something different like that anymore. All you see are those crappy tin can 5 inch straights on practically every car, or you see those crappy pipes from the LS1 Camaros. I for one love the idea o using a different designed pipe. Especially the pipes from off the old gen 2 Trans-ams. I hate all this striaght tin car looking pipe crap that as i said every single car has. Plus those pipes are made ever so more annoying to see when every second car you see is a dog gone rice car that sounds like a dog gone vaccum. I royally hate those pipes!!!!!!!!
