I'm not much of a wrencher when it comes to cars, but seems to me that can't be good for the trans. How about powerbraking?

tell me you aren't serious and/or you don't actually do this to your car.

Outisde of pulling it out of the car and going at it with a Sawz-All, neutral drops are about the worst thing you can do to an ATX. Please, don't recommend things that will destroy other readers' cars.

Yes nuetral drops will eat a tranny alive. Brake stand is the way to go but you will wipe out your rear brakes after a bit.

Also, I wouldn't suggest doing burns on anything except fairly new tires. or you might end up in the Darwin Awards shortly thereafter.

If you're asking what a brake stand is, its essentially depressing the brake and gas pedals at the same time. I would NOT recommend flooring both pedals, however. Just press the brake hard enough to keep the front tires locked, and once the tires are spinning good, this doesnt take as much brake force as you think. This will save you a bit of your rear brakes, although its still not gonna do wonders for longevity, either. If you are really intent on doing this, I'd also recommend caoting the area where your rear tires will be in a 25%/75% mix of bleach and water, respectively. The liquid will save your tires a bit, and the bleach will smoke all nice and white, which is always nice, I guess.

I don't even know why I'm talking about this....

Exclamation

My friend did a neutral drop in his Accord the other day...dumped it at 7000....

Hasn't done anything yet...but that's asking for it...

Wanna burnout? Just mash the gas! Wanna do donuts, same thing but turn the wheel!

Good lord.... As much as we dont recommend doing anything foolish like this on public property or streets, trakslacker said it best with how to do a burnout. For an auto tranny that works best. If you have a manual, its a lil bit more tricky, but this is how I do it w/ my drag radials at the TRACK (i.e. not public roadways).

1) pull around water box
2) Back into water box
3) spin tires over a few times in first to get them wet
4) pull slowly out of water
5) put car in 2nd gear
6) rev car to about 5,500 and drop the clutch
7) with left foot, immediately move and hit the brake pedal, it will stop the car from moving forward, but your tires should have spun enough to not really move. (step 6 and 7 should be quick, almost instant actions).
8) burn tires till desired grip/temp/smoke amount
9) let off brake while still on gas, spinning the tires through a rolling smooth stop.

Here is a video to demonstrate my process. (it didnt get the first 3steps).

I don't drive automatic, but how do you peel out (w/o breaking stuff) on a terribly underpowered car, that wont spin the wheels if you floor it. My friend wanted to peel out on his car. I know how to do it on a manual. Is the rev in neutral all he has going for him? I should just tell him to forget about it.

My general feeling is that if the car is terribly underpowered, the tranny will most likely be terribly underbuilt, meaning attampting anything like a burnout may result in very bad things.
