I may have to scan some old pics for more but this could be a LONG list as I have a certain affliction...lol No particular order here...so here we go...
1987 LX 5.0 which I still have today and a 1987 Trans Am GTA that I sold and the difficulty to sell to the mullet nation cured me of ever wanting another one.
One of many Mark VII LSC's I have owned...this was a '90 Special Edition
1984 Mustang GT Turbo...I bought it from the original owner. Today it lives in MO and is well taken care of.
1950 Desoto...I traded my 53 F100 for this. Ran like a sewing machine, didn't miss a beat. Cool old car to drive. I added the visor, headlight shades and wide whites. Sold it to a local guy who added a luggage rack and would drive and show it.
You & Me Both! Sadly A Lot of Cars Went Sans Photo after My Camera Was Stolen Along with The Stereo out of My GT/CS while parked at the Apartments I Was Living in While at Automotive School. I Had Some Very Special Pics of Then Girlfriend in that Camera When Stolen. My Girlfriend at the Time Looked Like Stacks From Bj & The Bear Tv Show Judy Landers. The Long Distance While at School Took It's Toll Sadly. That is All Got to Say About That!
I Think as far as The Pics The Interesting Thing is What Story Pops To Mind as You Dig For Them. Does Not Have To Be Chronological. Just Little Bites of Time and Some Reflection of What Was Going On!
I Like The Tree Growing Out of The Bumper of The Ford Wagon Behind the Desoto! Also the Turbo Bird Hood on the Olds! ya, I Know My Cars!
66 Coupe I bought from a guy who had paid storage on it for 20 years and the storage lot was making him move because they were doing add on work and repaving. it had patina and some rust but a neat as was parked car. Sold it to a guy in Huntsville, AL
66 Coupe...yard find. Emberglo with emberglo and parchment pony interior. Traded this one for a 1999 Roush F150 Mark Martin edition
67 Galaxie LTD 2 door hardtop, 390 4V. I bought this rust free gem from a scrapyard for $900. Got it running and played with it a bit then had trouble selling it so I pulled the engine for my 67 S code coupe and parted out what I could before scrapping it after getting fed up because I sold it 5 times on Ebay and each time the bidder never came through.
In this picture there's my 69 Fastback under the cover to the left with my 79 Indy Pace car behind it and at the back is my '70 Convertible...but the one up front and personal has a story. It's originally a '79 Mustang hatchback that a professional body man turned into a convertible using original parts. He then installed a 429 out of a Lincoln with an automatic. The hood he made of steel and had some cooling problems so he cut out the gorilla nostril holes in it(I was not a fan of that)...and then he took Mitsubishi Eclipse headlights and made the front headlights to bolt in and modified the fenders where they wrapped around. Paint was red with a heavy pearl. Now looking back this was one of the dumbest trades I ever made...I traded him my '85 Mustang GT Cobra T-top...a Canadian car and I bought it from the original owner. I had changed the engine to a '93 5.0 with a E-303 Cam. I never should have traded but I wanted the big block. Shortly after getting this car I bought the correct big block engine mounts, headers and a 5" cowl fiberglass hood and changed the nose back to the correct 87-93 GT nose. Sold that front end with hood to a guy outside of Washington, D.C.. Later I ended up selling this car to a friend and I think he parted it out.
My 1990 Thunderbird SC Special Edition. Bought it out of Georgia from the original owner. This car would get you in trouble because you could never judge speed. I had a friend who was a Deputy Sheriff and he stopped by and was going to join us for lunch. We were headed about 12 miles away. He jumped out in front in his crown vic patrol car and hammered it down. I was right on him....we were headed up the 2 lane road at some pretty illegal speeds as he was trying to lose me. We came upon some traffic and he passed, so I passed...the look on that guys face as he watched this black Tbird chasing a police car was priceless! I later sold this to one of my customers.
87 GT convertible that I bought from a friend, I was after this car for a while.... original blue and silver two tone-original paint, original Blue top and grey interior. Factory premium sound with equalizer...it was loaded with all the options. It was an auto car. When another car popped up for sale that I had been after (90 7up vert), I sold this to a friend to facilitate the purchase of the '90
This is the 90 Special Edition that I sold the GT for...when I got it and after I restored it. Brought this with me to Alabama when I moved and later sold it to a guy in TN, lost track since. I was the 2nd owner and new the original owner when she bought this car new in 1990.
87 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe that I V8 swapped and built a custom one-off hood using a wrecked SVO hood to get the scoop. This was a fun one.
My first 5.0 LX...It was bone stock when I bought it from the original owner. I have pics of when I first got it somewhere but will have to scan them. It had 123K on it when I got it in '91..original down to the spark plugs that had never been changed but the oil was changed every 2800 miles from new. This car went through many stages and I had it for a LONG time. The chassis had probably 350K on it when I sold it but every nut bolt and screw had been out. In the end with the Cobra R's is what it looked like when I sold it. Custom one-off leather interior, Vortech Supercharged, Art Carr built AOD trans, Cobra brakes. I sold it to a friend in Myrtle Beach and it was stolen there and probably parted out.
86 Toyota MR2...great parts runner. 38mpg and like a go cart. I traded an 86 SVO (that I ended up buying back and still own today) for this and $500. I ended up selling this to facilitate the purchase of my big Lincoln Mig welder...also red but the welder has cup holders and the MR2 did not.
89 FHP SSP Mustang. I sold this one to a guy in Canada (he brought me 2 cases of beer as a gift when he drove down to get it) back in 2010. I recently just last month heard from another Canadian who bought it and is restoring it. I thought it had already been restored but today the title is still in my name...lol.
My 89 Georgia State Patrol car I restored...this is after
Here is what happens when you let someone drive your car on track. I was at the 45th anniversary show at Barbers...I let a friend drive it and someone was there with a camera to catch this moment. Luckily he didn't hit anything but that was the last time I let anyone drive my car on track.
This was how I found it when I bought it, blown engine.
Man, I Love The Foxes and The Turbo Bird! I Was a Young Poor Counterman When Those Turbo Birds Came Out. Test Driving at The Dealer was as Close as I Ever Got To Owning One. Was Trying To Be Open Minded About The Turbo 4 as I Was and Always Have Been a V8 Guy. But Sure Like The Look of the 87-88 Versions The Most! I Even Considered an EXP a Bit Later. Just Cause it Was Different!
96 GT we named "The Peeler" because the paint was coming off. I bought this car by accident...I bid on it on Ebay just because I wanted to see what it sold for, so it was a low bid of $800. I was outbid with 3 other bidders ahead of me. Apparently the other 3 fell through so they offered it to me, so we jumped in the truck with the trailer and drove to Charlotte to pick it up. Removed all the decals and I ended up adding a Cobra front bumper and some FR500 wheels. The wife drove it for a couple of years and then when she was pregnant I decide to put her into something with more room so I sold it to a customers uncle. within 6-8 months it had been totalled.
2003 Infinity G35...bought it from a customer, it was his wife's car and the insurance company totaled it from the Tornado damage in 2013. I still own it and I still haven't finished it, body work is done for the most part and just need to paint it.
2003 Mach 1..aka "The Mashed 1". Bought it as a donor car for the drivetrain because the Right quarter was caved in...decided to drive it and have been driving it for years as wrecked. Had it at Ponies in the Smokies 2 years ago. Currently the quarter is being replaced and it's going to live rather than be a donor car.
2006 Magnum... I bought this as a side swiped ex rental car with 271 miles on it in 2007. I fixed it and did a custom paint job on it and the wife drove it for years. Now it sits as I was going to V8 swap it but recently bought another 05 RT and think I'm going to rebuild it again out of that one. I'm over the paint scheme, I've been profiled and pulled over so many times it's not even funny anymore...LOL. Next will be straight black.
My 64 Mercury Marauder. Today it sits on a '93 Town Car frame and has a Mark VIII 32V 4.6 in it...however I came upon a 2004 Marauder for parts so I have that drivetrain and seats which will go in this one. The model is the paint scheme I am planning for it.
1965 Fastback- A code with factory A/C. Originally Twilight Turquoise. This is the wife's car, she claimed it when I traded my 86 SVO Comp prep for it. I need to finish this car!
67 Chevy Van, this is supposed to be a shop van if I can ever get to it, I have a corvette engine and trans for it. I'm still up in the air as to how I'm going to paint it.
Saved this one from being scrapped...1967 Coupe- S code 390 4V car with auto and tach. I suspect it to be a one of one car because it was white with a white vinyl top and red interior. I've never seen another white car with a white top. It's on the to do list
68 Coupe...been off the road since 1987. It was a garage find I bought, rebuilt 289 and it's sitting in the warehouse waiting for me to restore it.
My first Mustang when I was 16...1968 Mustang Coupe.
Oh Man Leave The Patina on the Van & Make a Sleeper Out of it! Just Lose That Front Bumper! Maybe an Angry Push Bar! Put an Aged Business Sign on it For a Now Defunct Service Like TV Repair! Ya PAULS TV REPAIR.
Widest Steelies You Can Get Under The Fenders with Good Rubber and Your Vette Powertrain! Super Quiet Exhaust With Electric Cutouts Turned on at a Stop Light & The Look on Folks Faces When You Nail it Would Be Priceless!
1968 Falcon Futura....as I bought it where someone robbed the drivetrain and 5 lug suspension for a Mustang. I put it all back on and took the engine out of my 68 Cougar and put the car back together as in the 2nd pic. Not perfect but a nice driver. Sold it to a guy in Southern CA who drove out here and towed it back on a tow bar!!! This was around 2010, heard from his wife 2 months ago asking questions about what front brakes I had put on it so this one is still alive and kicking.
1968 GT Coupe, original J code 302 4V auto car. Black with black top and black interior. This one deserves to be redone so it's in line...lol.
My 69 Cyclone Spoiler II Dan Gurney Special...rarer than most Shelby Mustangs. This is one of the first 10 cars built and 1 of 60ish documented to still exist.
1970 VW Bug...had a little fun with this one and then sold it to a friend who still has it. When I brought this home my son said "Daddy, that's not fast"...LOL
1974 Pinto...I had plans for this one but ended up selling it. It was originally green and I had planned to take it back to a more vibrant green. I don't think the friend I sold it to has done anything with it either.
The 86 SVO that I drove to VA to save after the owner's son crashed into a curb. I fixed it and traded it for the 86 MR2 and $500...then bought it back 2 years later for $900 with a bad distributor. That was 2010...it's sitting in my parking lot waiting for attention. It's going to be turned into a replica of a significant car in SVO history.
My first SVO, found as an abandoned red with white stripes car in College Park, MD in 1996. I did everything and travelled the country with this SVO. It now resides in NY in a private collection.
My 87 LX...I built this for a friend in the 90's, after an accident she sold it to me because I had history with the car and she knew it would be taken care of. Today it has a 331 in it...it's whole live from when she bought it, it has been drag raced.
My 88 Saleen...with pics the 2nd owner sent me, after he sold it a guy modified it and it has a Cobra IRS in it. Currently it is completely apart getting a ground up restoration. This one should be coming together this year.
My wife's 89 LX 5.0 with Auto. it's due for paint and driven occasionally. I'm not really getting to drive it much so it's future could be selling it or keeping it...I hate to sell such an original nice one as hard as they are getting to find.
My '90 Corvette...bought on a whim because I was challenged that I couldn't put a Ford engine in a Corvette but after I bought it, rebuilt the transmission and then drove it, I absolutely hated it. Drives like a log wagon and hard to get in and harder to get out. I parted it out and the engine will go into the 67 Van. This was a bad buy, never again will I own a Corvette unless it's a 63 Split Window.
My 86 SVO "The Evolution SVO"...constantly changing and currently parked on display in the Mustang Museum of America. 1995 Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords cover car.
****, I Thought I Had a Lot of Projects You Got Me There!
KC
LOL, I'm not done yet....LOL
This was the very first Mustang I ever rode in or worked on. My friend Mike bought it and then we went searching for one for me. We got into a lot of trouble in this car and here is a picture of me working on the car LATE one night as was often the case. 4 years ago I got a call from Mike and he sold me THIS car...this is the one that started it all. I have so much history with this car and it takes me back. So you could offer me a 65 GT350 for this car in trade and I'd tell you no. There is only one reason this car will get sold and that's if Mike wants it back since he obviously has just a little more history with it than I do. But I'm upgrading things...currently rebuilding the heater box and about to rewire the entire car. 289 and a 4 speed with a 3.50 Detroit Locker makes this a fun one to throw around.
I Had Always Told My Self I Would Never Be The Guy With the Family Minivan Back When That Was The In Thing in The Aerostar & Caravan Days. Anyway Looking For a NEW family Unit and The First New Car I Ever Purchased we Drove Trucks & Vans At Our Favorite Dodge Dealer. For Some Reason I Did a 180 and Bought a 95 Dodge Avenger. I Was Very Buy American Back Then & Thought Pretty Cool Car! Shortly after Purchasing it I Realized it Was a Mitsubishi Galant Based Car. I Did Not Dig That & I Did Not Keep it very Long!
The closest I got to a minivan type kids vehicle was the Dodge Magnum. I also refused to go that route...lol
Here is my '74 F100...as found where it had been parked 22 years ago, got it last December 29, 2023 and here it is today. Lowered, slots, new brakes, fuel system, cooling system, etc. I got a call from a friend that his great uncle passed and wanted to know if I was interested in the old truck. Super solid truck original two-tone pastel lime and Samoa lime. I don't really ever name vehicles but this one got coined "Lima Bean".
1975 F-250 Camper Special-460, auto. I bought this from a friend who got it out of a barn in TX. I did some work to it and sold it to a friend because the trucks he kept looking at were overpriced garbage. It's in the process of being prepped to repaint two-tone Jade Metallic and mint green. He isn't used to Carbs and has trouble starting it so she is called "Cranky B!tch"...lol
1978 Fairmont Wagon...this was a friends Abandoned Lemon's race car project and I had picked up a 2001 Cobra to part out so the drivetrain from the Cobra is going in this car(it already had a Cobra IRS in it-now in the Evolution SVO). So this is the kind of project that we can go a little crazy with, the idea is a IMSA style wide body race wagon...
This was one of those cars in the past I never would have considered...but it's 2025 and since my parents bought one of these new in '78, when I saw this one It screamed 70's America with gas guzzlers and massive cars so I had to have it! 1978 Lincoln Continental Town Car with Green cloth interior which is in excellent shape. It came from Northwest Alabama and belonged to the father of one of the guitarists in the Band Alabama. 460 equipped and Nimitz class at 19' long! I am just about ready to start driving this one, I've gone through the brakes, installed a '69 429 Timing chain since the one it in was one of those retarded for emissions versions. I'm currently rebuilding the original carb and it's going on it's maiden voyage.
85 GT that I had back in '99, took 3 years but finally talked the original owner out of it. Canyon red with the uncommon Tan interior. Ran great...got it for $900. Probably should have held on to this one too.
98 F-150 that I bought in 2001 when my Explorer trans let go while visiting Alabama preparing for the move. It was two-tone green and tan, I quickly transformed it into an Extended Cab Lightning replica and lowered it with a bell tech kit and installed Koni shocks. Sold it in a package deal with my '88 LX to the friend in Myrtle Beach...he sold it after the Mustang got stolen, haven't heard about or seen it since.
1991 LX 5.0 Coupe-53K original miles, Perfect red interior, Texas car. The owner of a local auction bought this and tore it apart for a coyote swap...had it tubbed and smoothed out the engine bay. Gave up and sold the coyote donor car and then I bought the car in pieces. Currently sitting under my wife's 65 Fastback in the shop. I'm trying to decide what to do with it....either decide on an engine and build it or pass it on to someone else because as you see I just have too many projects.
1991 Mercedes Benz 300SL- I wasn't looking but one of my tool truck guys told me about this. I worked for Mercedes in '91 so I have driven these when new and just like the styling. Bought from the original owner who was in his '70's...I don't believe the hard top has ever been off it. Cold A/C, nice driver....like I said, wasn't looking or even had this on the radar but when I was told I could buy it for $2500, I had to look...so obviously it got added to the collection.
1992 Mark VII LSC- uncommon Emerald Green with tan interior. I found this in a junkyard in 1999, it had just arrived. Front end hit and didn't blow the airbag, My brother bought it and I helped him with the parts and we rebuilt it. He had it for more than 15 years and then sold it to me. I had it a while then sold it to a friend in Atlanta.
This is a more recent acquisition. 1994 Cobra Indy pace car convertible. 74K miles and just needs paint and seat covers. Previous owner took it apart and then gave up and moved selling to a friend of mine. He wanted a SSP Mustang so I traded my unrestored '88 GSP SSP Mustang for this.
Thanks, that's one of my favorites but it's going to be risky to drive it a lot as the parts are made of unobtanium. I'm going to need bail money if someone hits me....
