OMG, Evo!
OMG, Evo!
Its an ugly little 4 door ricer, but gawd, that's fast.

Plus the say the price will be around $32,000? Yeah right. Have they even been to a Mitsubishi store? The EVO 9 MR is priced at $37,000. And this was to have more power, and ALOT more technology in the car. I say this car will be close to $40,000. Also, they are saying the new Ralliart will be where the old EVO left off, and have hp in the high 200 range.
I didn't know AWD also meant remote control and runs on fumes.
A GT weighs in the neighborhood of 3500 lbs and sports 300hp/320 ft/lbs - And let me get this straight - the addition of AWD will chop approximately 1 second out of its 1/4 mile times - Again this is assuming there is only enough fuel in either car to make it from starting line to finish with brick laid down on the accelerators?

Whatever, if it can really achieve these numbers good for Mitsu. I would not be caught dead in that thing. I don't buy rice burners,
but thats just my personal opinion, style and sound are verry important to me and no Japanese sports car looks half as good as Mustangs or Vettes, on top of that you can't do anything to make these things sound good (IMHO of course) the exhaust must stay stock unless you like sounding like a 3000lb dirt bike, it's a sports car not a go kart. A 4cyl is still only 4 cyl a couple of mods to a GT or Vette and these 1/4 mile times are nothing, and the cars will still run reliably. start adding mods to these 4 bangers and they start to fall apart, you can have a 500HP V8 put down great track times and still be a good car for normal driving, a 4cyl not so much.

i find the impreza do be pretty decent looking. the sti will be real sick nasty. and hey if america truely build a competitor to these cars and it was worth buying. i would buy it but for now i refuse. because america should be on the fore-front of automotive design. and they clearly arent. why should i be driving a car that isnt the best or fitting of what i want in the car just because of what country it is made in. yes my mustang may "sound better, look cooler, go almost faster, be more PC for this forum" BUT, the sti can drive through the winter, seat 5 comfortably, have refinement in the suspension, brakes, steering, and interior materials that america has years to get to. so in the grand scheme. subaru ftw.
oh and BTW that mitsubishi twin clutch trans, yeah maybe it will shift faster, but you'll have to rebuild it every 30-40k miles and the VW one will last as long as the engine. mitsu reliability leaves lots to be desired, and they still supply chrysler with stuff.

dont take it with too much salt. i am just trying to be the fanboy of mustangs and EVERYTHING ELSE, unlike pretty much this entire forum. and i think everything on the chrysler lx platform is garbage and wouldnt be caught dead in one. the challenger will be cool, but way too far out of the mustangs price range to ever be a competitor. i would love to see one with awd though, thats be a neat change.
