I know this is off topic, but what is that "Mondeo/Contour fiasco" they're talking about.

The Ford Contour was a Mondeo with a new moniker attached and was positioned between the Escort and Taurus in the US lineup. Unfortunately it had terrible rear seat room and never did very well here for that reason and a few others. Even worse it was a relatively expensive car to build which certainly didn't do anything to help Ford.
