New Transformers Movie Toys......ick

So Optimus prime has an ugly paint job, and looks like some freaky anime monstrosity in robot mode. Even worse, Bumblebee is now a Camaro (WTF??) and looks even worse than Optimus in robot mode. If these are true to the movie, my desire to watch it has gone down yet another notch.

Yeah, this AND Diehard 4 are on my list for a double feature on the 4th of July! This movie is going to make bucho bucks!!! A typical Michael Bay movie with tons of effects, and explosions and a joy to watch for 2 hours! I can't wait.

I hope the movie blows and bombs so its a kick in the face of the character designers for the movie and Bay. Whoever approved those designs should have been slapped in the face.

so tell all your friend's to boycott the movie

Ok, I clicked the link in the first post to find out that they only have images of the toys which (by far) look more like "Transformers" than they do in the movie. If you want to see a bunch of movie renders though, click here...

Oh and just for a quick example...
Movie Optimus Prime (ick)

Movie StarScream (I think they were designing a Halo grunt instead)

The Original StarScream

Would you go see a Star-Wars movie if Yoda was a Green midget with elf ears and tatoos plastered all over his body? How about Han Solo being played by George Lucas himself? What if the Wookies were just giant ewoks?

What about an Indiana Jones without a whip? Or he was always dressed like a caveman?

What if James Bond was an American with a Souther draw and used no gadgets?

So I wonder, if one would not see these movies, why support one doing this junk to a legendary franchise like those listed above?

* I do apologize if I come off as rude, I do not mean to be. Just kinda hurt they can tamper with already great designs (heck they could have used just about any of the toylines as a design and it still would look better) and get away with it.

i dont know if i agree with your examples of other movies, because they werent a 20+ year old cartoon at the time when it was decided to make it into a movie.

however i do uderstand where you are coming from that the transformers dont look right. yes they are way too sculpted, and industrialized for a proper transformers figure. from what i have seen in the trailers. looks to me that the decepticons dont even look like transformers.

however, i am still going to see it. i just think it is going to be a great movie. and besides i still believe that the introduction of the beast wars, transformers took a horrible downturn.
