The new toy....2013 Scion FR-S

Yup. lol From one thing to another it seems. However, this one is different. We're doing product development and are currently working on a complete exhaust from header back.

We've already done a full compliment of HID/LED lighting thanks to HIDGUY!!!
500 Series coilovers with Swift Spring and roller bearing upgrades via Fortune Auto
20% tint all around

Wheels are coming up next.

Anyway, its a fun thing to drive! Obviously not a straight line type of car, but sure as hell makes up for it in the corners.

Already on it! We're just doing the numbers on how far we can take the offsets and width. The front doesn't seem to want more than a 9". The worst part is finding ANY wheel that's a decent size. Because of the 5x100 pattern, our choices at the moment are extremely limited for a decent sized wheel. So instead of settling for a 17x7.5 with +35 offset(YUCK!) we're taking our time. We're most likely going to land on some XXR 530's since right now they're a pretty good size with a pretty good offset. You guys will get the pics once we've got em. Otherwise for now, we're moving at a decent pace!

And to answer the question right now...FR-S>BRZ. Its all in the price tag.

that thing is whining for a turbo setup! They've got great handling, but honestly a laughable hp figure for a sports car these days

Tell me about it, my buddy has one and he let me borrow it for a run to the store - I gotta admit I'm spoiled by the GT500.

I kept thinking how nice it would be to have another 75-100hp in this thing.

Think I'll send this link to my buddy so he can check out the project car and the tire/rim upgrades.

SSR already has a few wheels that fit. Plus you can customize the size and offset.

One thing I like is that the beltline doesn't look absurdly high, and the interior looks like it would be pretty open and airy.

I found the interior pretty roomy with decent head room, but not very open. The windshield header dips down a bit giving me the feeling that I've got a baseball cap pulled down low. Otherwise functionally I found the FR-S to be a better fit interior wise than the last Camaro I sat in.

Take that for what its worth though since I'm 6'2 favoring a longer torso rather than long legs.

Jack Baruth? Yeah, this is his second video presentation. Definitely a snappy dresser (how could you go wrong with a golden hoodie) and a better scribe.

However, the guy has considerable experience as a racer (track daze instructor, NASA racer, skip barber challenge, koni challenge, lemons, et al) and TTAC doesn't get their money through auto endorsements so you get an honest opinion or as close to an honest opinion as you can get ( personal biases being what they are).

thats fair enough, but until you told me that information i had no idea he had any experience at all. I found his critiques of the cars to be a bit simplistic

but then again, what do I know

I would definitely rock that jacket though

I'm 5'6" so I find just about any interior spacious. The only drawback to the car right now is the Bespoke sound system only accepting Apple bits and not Android. We were told by the dealer they were "working on it", but we'll see. The car is barely driven, so its not really a big deal.

It may be slow in a straight line, but its a lot of fun in the twisties! Turbo kits have already been made, the latest one producing nearly 300hp! This little car with 300hp would be excellent fun, but a handful without upgrading tires and brakes.

I'll keep updating with pics as we keep on changing stuff, or whenever I get some new ones.

That is my gut feeling on power, about 300hp and this car would be a hero at its current weight or there abouts (seeing as how you would have to upgrade some components to get OE reliability).
