Having finally figured out how to post pics on here, I wanted to share what I saw this past Saturday. I stated in an earlier post, that I went to see a collection of vintage race cars, that among with many many others, included a Mark II GT40, a Mark VI GT40, Dusenberg racer, Aston DBR-1, Cunningham, Maserati, 2 Ferraris, Bugatti, 2 Gullwing SL's and one very famous car, the "Lost" but now found Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe. To let you all know, the pics are dark. I had to use the flash, due to the minimal lighting that was there. Thsi made for some dark shots. If I didn't use the flash, the shutter speed was very slow, and the pics would have been fuzzy, which one is. The car is still not in any great shape, but its in better shape than when it was pulled out of storage.
If you notice, those stupid letters that Phil Spector put on the doors, to signify the car's world land speed record (at the time) have been taken off, and the doors were compounded to bring the color back up. You will also see that there are several signatures on the roof. If you can't tell who signed the car, I'll be happy to let you know that Bob Bondurant, Phil Hill, Jackie Stewart, and the man himself, Carroll Shelby all signed the car. What history this car has. It really is a true piece of automotive history, and I was thrilled to see it in person. Hope you enjoy the pictures.

Daytona Cobra Coupe CSX2287
To any and all who can help. I am trying to find as many photos or reference visuals regarding Daytona Cobra Coupe CSX2287, also known as the "Lost" Daytona Coupe. It was the first Daytona Coupe built in the USA. The car has a long racing history. An unusual history of ownerships. Craig Breedlove set new speed records at the "Salt Flats" with this Cobra. It was once "owned" (in question) by Phil Spector. CSX2287 currently resides in the collection of Dr. Fred Simeone, a well known Philadelphia neurosurgeon. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Regards, Frank

Why were they built in Italy, if their debut race was at Daytona? Sounds like a mismatch if you ask me.
