About twenty years ago, I had an opportunity to buy a '74 Challenger R/T, and didn't do it. :bang: I wonder if I could afford both my GT and a new Challenger? Maybe if we sold my wife's truck.... <wanders down the hall>"Honey?" :-D |
I say dump the challenger name, call it the 2009 CHARGER ..this is the kind of car that name should have been applied to

Originally posted by Louie@December 21, 2005, 5:39 AM I can already imagine it parked next to my GT! :-) Any idea on what the specs and prices will be? There are also rumours and speculations about the possibility that the 392 (or 6.4L...) crate engine from Dodge might be used for a top end edition. In race trim, it has 510 hp, but if they decide to use it for the Challenger, chances are it will be trimmed down a bit as far as hp is concerned (my guess: 470-480 hp ?) for reliability/durability issues. Though I personally would be happy with the 6.1L + IRS + same (or at least, very similar to the) looks of this concept car... :) |
DAAANGGG...
I've always had a soft spot for those cars.... :P but it seems they took a lot from the mustang interior.... Looks great |
Man that is SAWEEEETTTTT
I see a Cuda conversion in my future :) |
really, really nice.
|
Doug I was thinkin the same thing.
SO easy to have a kit out that converts this :D |
Future Phantasm Cuda anyone?

It's the 1st car that has come out since the new mustang intro that is tempting. |
MPH magazine said the Challenger will base price at around 28000. That would put the 6.1 Hemi in the 37-40k range.

They'd be competing against another car in their lineup, much like GM already does (Grand Prix/Bonneville = same car). I say bring on the Challenger and dump the Charger. |
It is perfect. Dodge will finally put their muscle to good use with this
|
Is that carbon fiber on the hood and the inside part around the grill? it looks like it to me. The car looks really nice.
Can't wait till the auto show to see the production shelby, the concept challenger(bigger pics), and the concept camaro. Watch out imports, it's the return of the american muscle cars :nice: . |
It says here you get 425 hemi hp for $28,000, going to have to start saving....
