I can already imagine it parked next to my GT! :-)
Any idea on what the specs and prices will be?

Happy Yellow 12/21/05 03:52 AM

Awesome :nice: i want one now in yellow

That's very well done - it's so close to the original car that its scary. Let's hope Chrysler can follow Ford's lead and keep the price low and still make a decent car with decent options - both V6 and V8. Wonder if Plum Crazy will be a color this time?

Evil_Capri 12/21/05 05:31 AM

Thanks Alfio!

Car does look nice!

Galaxie 12/21/05 05:51 AM

Challenger Concept

Wow, quite nice, out retro's even the Mustang, maybe a bit too much so even.

It'll be interesting to see how close a production version comes to this, but given DC's past record of faithfully translating concepts into production, my hopes are high. Indeeed, I wish the production Mustang was of closer fidelity to the Stang Concept, even if, in actuallity, the Concept was developed after the production version, oh well.

In any case, what will also be critical will be the final execution and underpinnings. While an excellent car, I think the Mustang has a few glaring competitive weaknesses that both DC and GM could readily capitolize on with their upcoming pony cars.

Can't wait to see some decent spy pics of GM's upcoming contender, the Camaro/Chevelle.

Good days to be a pony car buff!

MustangFanatic 12/21/05 01:14 PM

Very nice!!! If DC builds does indeed convert this version to a production model, it will certainly be a success. Can you say Hemi? I thought so!!

Even looks like it might have a pistol grip shifter, :nice:

Knight 12/21/05 01:32 PM

if they try to keep the price point low im guessing the following.

base 3.5 V6 with 250hp
R/T 5.7H V8 with 350hp
SRT-8 6.1H with 425hp

Very nice, and very true to the original. If they build it, it should sell well. I like it.

That's providing those weaknesses are still there by the time the Challenger & Camaro hit the streets.

You're probably right on there. But then why the heck would need the Charger? They'd be competing against another car in their lineup, much like GM already does (Grand Prix/Bonneville = same car). I say bring on the Challenger and dump the Charger.

BigDog 12/21/05 02:29 PM

Man, I *really* like that!! About twenty years ago, I had an opportunity to buy a '74 Challenger R/T, and didn't do it. :bang:

I wonder if I could afford both my GT and a new Challenger? Maybe if we sold my wife's truck....

<wanders down the hall>"Honey?" :-D
