I really like the way the Challenger looks, second only to the S197. Dodge has offered a great variety of options, power trains, packages and colors. They're certainly hitting all the right buttons with enthusiasts.

However, it still sticks in my craw that they're a bailout company, right there with GM. I guess I really should get over that, but I have strong political convictions and opinions and I just can't make that compromise. For that reason I don't see myself owning a Challenger or a new Sting Ray, as much as I like the looks and performance of both cars. I don't know what I'd be driving today had Ford followed suit.

I understand the appeal, and I would never hold it personally against those who choose to own one of those cars. Regardless of my political leanings, I am first and foremost a car enthusiast, regardless of circumstance or marque.

Good luck with yours....it really is beautiful, and that's the right color for a Challenger. Congrats.

Thanks , for the complements. I really love the car so far, I think Dodge did a nice job. Kind of hard to compare it to the Mustang/Camaro, in retro it's more of a Chevelle, Torino & OH YEA Challenger/Cuda size. Scott

dude...you know they paid the money back, right? Chrysler paid off the loan 6 years ahead of schedule. The government only lost $1.3 billion from the bailout of Chrysler. The effects of two major automakers going bankrupt would have hurt the economy A LOT MORE than the amount the government lost on bailing them out.

Only?

Besides, the government didn't lose a dime. Who do you think is paying for that? Add almost 100 million for Solyndra, cash for clunkers, revenues not received or jobs created by not approving oil and gas drilling, billions of dollars spent in entitlements, and god only know what Obamacare will end up costing the US taxpayer. Sorry, but there's no program that I can support, economically or other wise, from this inept and corrupt administration.

Regardless, and with sincere apologies to the OP for the hijack, your Challenger is really a great looking car....I wish you a lot of happy miles in it.

But anyway, yeah it's probably best to leave political banter out of the car forum

Oh no! Let's not start that again! They might as well throw those threads into the politics section too.

Post up more pictures of the car!!! Yeah, it's a Mustang site, but most of us are car enthusiasts in general. You are also going to have to take a photoshoot with both cars!!
