I just popped in this thread, sorry I'm late. But hey, I just wanted to say that lil' truck gettin the love it is from you is fantastic! Sounds like overall it's a great lil' truck. I was thinkin' about gettin' one of these things, but then I had another vehicle come around and it was 'can't not get that' priced and overall good shape.

Still... maybe a Ranger for me is not out of the question. Then do the 4.94889 engine swap in it. Because racetruck.

But yeah, I just wanted to say keep it up, and keep tellin' us stories about it!
Thanks!
Yep. Tailgate thieves are a real PITA arround here. I always wanted a truck, since they remind me of my late grandpa when I rode with him when I was younger. I still miss him a lot. Will keep the thread updated!

Ordered yesterday a set of NGK platinum spark plugs to see if the cold start missfires it does sometimes go away. If not, plug wires would be next.

New plug wires are in. Runs good now. The rear right wheel was sticking with the parking brake, so I cleaned them ad loosened the brake adjuster a bit. The drums got a fresh coat of paint. I also replaced the fender screws with some with allen heads I got for cheap

Oil was changed too along with the plug wires. And I found the drivers side inner tie rod is bad.

"Drum Brakes Kenobi. Drum Brakes... Now that's a system I've not messed with for a looong time. A long time." - Drum Brake "Ben" Kenobi to Luke Truckfixer, Star Truck: A New Hope

But I will be soon enough. Lil' Caliber (The Silver Pellet) is gonna need them at some point, but it has been a *while*, I tell ya. Just lookin' at that is bringing back the nostalgia of fixin' those on my previous cars, like Muskrat with 4 of 'em. And no power booster either.

I live vicariously through your updates, keep 'em comin', edum!

My favorite part of drum brakes was always the two springs that went on the pin at the top. So. Much. Fun.

/Vise grips to the rescue! Although I'm sure people are afeared of damaging those springs somehow, never seemed to be an issue for us...

Oh you're right about those springs. They take a good amount of force to pull them off. Vice grips ftw!

Took out the drivers seat to try and jerry rig a fix for the foam that colapsed/broke and was making a mess on clothing. Managed to open the seat covering & sliding some foam pieces I had saved for this kind of situations. There were some rods in the backrest that were broken and I fixed them with some steel wire. Next would be putting the seat covers I've been saving for it. Guess it's better than nothing and the seat feels way much better now.

Because we don't have stringent rules like Germany and the UK regarding even having a license, much less a car. We're more about selling the car, not the driver of the thing. So you get the lowest common denominator behind these wheels with the barest of 'training' and let them loose. And then they get a $2000 beater so they don't care about it, why should they care about yours?

That's why. Thank you for comin' to my Ted Talk.
