my dad needs help!
that's why you need to find a good porsche mechanic. They are a little more expensive to fix, but if you find the right mechanic, he will not overcharge you, he will tell you how to keep it on the road, and it won't be that bad.
I remember reading a R&T story about a club of 911 owners who had 911s that all had over 300k miles, some as many as 800k miles and never had more than a valve adjustment. SO if you take care of them, they will last. They are very well engineered cars.
Ok, so maybe that's impractical, then what does your dad REALLY want?
like if he had the 35k to buy any car he wanted, used or new, what would it be?

no we aren't planning to buy until around fall...we need to sell our towncar before we buy anything...i'd say the absolute max is between 35 & 40, but then he coudn't buy until next year, cuz he'd have to save up alot
well my dad has made a final choice, he is gonna wait for the 07 cobra POSITIVELY....we are looking to get on a waiting list, if anyone could help find one, it would be much appreciated
Unfortunatley I feel it will be over 45k. The markup was substantial on the terminators. They were on lots when they first came out for about 39k. The starting price I believe (what I heard from the Ford rep at the NYIAS) was 40-45k with possible (definite in my opinion) markup of 5 to 8K. Maybe wait and see if they come out with California Special or Mach 1 in the next couple of years. Just an idea.
