we all know that Ford NEVER gets bashed on a GM site....

Bashing GM on this list is like preaching to the choir.
Few will stand up. Most will bow their head and chant.
I think GM is not Ford's problem. Toyota is. Obviously GM has not had the insight to stop the Raging Bull that is Toyota. Ford has the oportunity
to stand out. They revamped the F-150, Mustang and brought out the 500.
The jury's out and it doesn't look good. Negative 12% sales drop hurts.
No matter how you slice it. GM or no GM.
I believe that Ford will fall to #3 because of Toyota before GM is dislodged at number 1.

My aunt and her son which only owned Ford's(Mini-vans and F-150's) and 1 GM(95 Firebird) have went the way of the rising sun. I tried to talk them out of it. I said the '05 Stang was coming the F-150 is brand new. They now regret it.
For the same price they paid for their Tacoma he could of had a new Mustang. Their Highlander has had problems already and had to be taken back to the dealer twice. So much for Toyota quality.
I guess its not their fault tho'. After reading in every car magazine that Toyota is the best thing since slice bread and Ford's are always second fiddle.
I told them most Ford's are equal to Toyota in quality.
But they thought there would be zero problems with there new Toyota's.
That just wasn't a reality.

There's no doubt that Toyota & Honda represent a threat to the domestics. However, that has nothing to do with this thread nor my post in particular. My post was in response to you getting indignant that Jsaylor had several posts discussing the foibles ot GM management. Having spent some time browsing some of the GM boards, Ford is constantly bashed. Perhaps some of these GM enthusiasts need to wake up and realize that their beloved GM is in trouble. Jacque Nasser was directly responsible for the problems at Ford. I think Bill Ford is now going in the right direction to correct those problems. On the other hand, Lutz seems to have made one mistake after another and there's no indication yet that it's going to change any time soon.

Toyota cant match the Ford Durability, Can you put a 8 foot long 3 feet high Fisher Plow on a Toyota? NO Can you on a Gm product? Yes, but it will lay on the ground. Can you on a Dodge? Yah, with minimal front drop. Can You on a Ford? Super Duty, yah, F-150 8200 Series? Yah
That is one of the things i go by when looking at trucks, and ask if it can take a good shot at trcuk pulls? The Ford F-350s pulled 375 feet this year and had to hit the brakes to slow down to stop. He made 3 pulls over 300 feet with a stock 6.0 auto, all in a row. He pulled so far they brought him back and aded weight and he took off with it again. ANd we all know Hot Turbos are bad. THat is how I judge a truck. If you like GM, fine but dont expect it to take on the world. If you like ford the same is their. I dont say bad stuff about ford too often, but they have faults once in awhile, nothing is perfect.
