More EV good news

...

.. Ford Motor Company announced that it is projected to lose $4.5 billion from electric vehicles this year, despite increased revenue.

The U.S.-based automaker's EV division, called "Ford Model e," has lost $1.8 billion so far this year, according to Fortune.

"We’re going to offer customers a choice. We’re going to have a growth story for all three of our business, including our pro-business, and we’ll have the customer choose," Farley told Fox News’ Bret Baier...

I saw that too. I would love to see Ford and GM abandon this EV hysteria or at least cut way back. It's too late for Stellantis. Mopar guys still are having trouble with no more Challengers and Chargers.

I'm on the fence about the whole thing. I'm not a fan of the electric vehicles but I'm also a diehard Ford fan so I don't wish them any bad will either. I hate the marked up prices of cars these days I'd rather buy a clunker than pay an over charge.

My Other Neighbor Asked Me about Getting a Fleet of Electric Trucks For His Landscapining Service! NO NO NO! Bad Enough All the Lithium Batteries He Has To Charge Everynite Here in California as They Outlaw Gas Lawn Equipment!

If Ford continues to lose billions their future will not be difficult to predict. They talk about losing billions as if they spilled a cup of coffee.

They made their wine now they can drink it. C'est la vie.

@NC14GT Speaking of Stellantis, Dave! They just released the preproduction model of their upcoming 2024-25 Dodge Charger which claims to offer both an EV and 3.6L Hurricane twin turbo V6 version, but no Hemi V8 options will be available whatsoever... If you check out the YouTube videos, this preproduction Charger appears to have quite a few Challenger cues, and is also a 2-door coupe variant.

^^^ Thanks for that. i've seen this on the Challenger forum and mixed feelings are the 'norm'. The EV version is frowned on immensely but the twin turbo V6 is a possibility for some Challenger owners as a '2nd car'. No Hemi option is the killer. This new 'thing' is certainly a cross between the Challenger and Charger.
I personally doubt it would ever be in my garage if I needed a new car as I'd buy a new Mustang V8 convertible for sure. I really like my 3 paid off cars and nothing is on my horizon until I save some $$$.
Maybe something like this. Yeah, just dreaming...

Same here as no electric vehicle will ever replace my 2006 Mustang GT, I don't care if they're able to make more power/torque over an ICE V8 or not!

Remember it is supposed to be cheaper to run an EV also, the E Transit that a friend bought is $125.00 more a month to operate over the larger ICE model so he sold the E Transit and is just glad he didn't sell the ICE Transit.

@Siber Express Ken! Even if you recharge at home, you're looking at approx. $1,200 for a home charging station which doesn't even include the cost for renovations and labor... Then also take into consideration the increase of your electric bill each month... And for those who own older homes, will require an electrician upgrading their entire interior wiring just to be able to operate their home EV station... Perhaps for those who make between 5-6 figures per year are financially able to afford the upgrade and operation costs of making the switch to EV technology, but for the average household that makes below 50k per year and especially for homeowner's who are retired and living on fixed incomes, just do not have the disposable income to afford the transformation and operation costs, at least I know that I sure don't.

I Think it's Time To Be Honest About These EV'S. For Me I Believe They are Dangerous and it Needs To Be Public Knowledge! Would You Want One Parked in Your Garage or a Family Members Garage! How About a Situation Where Your Garage Was Next To a Neighbors Garage and They Had a New Ev & Personal Charging Station or Side By Side Driveways! I Would Not Sleep Well at Night with One Close To My Property! Kids or Grand Kids Riding In EV Busses, The Thought of One of Those Bus Flash Fires is Unimaginable!

Next Time a Friend or Neighbor Brings Up The Subject about Getting One Be Truthful and Let Er Rip!

Those Lousy Batteries are in Way Too Many of Our Daily Used Products and are Just Lurking around Waiting To Fail! Add on Half Baked Repairs of Defective Batteries Being Done and Promoted on Youtube Etc. And It's Just Going To get Worse!
