Mobil1 might get scarce
The plant that produces the PAOs (primary ingredients of M1) for the NA market was damaged by Hurrican Ike and is shutdown indefinitely for repairs. At one point, the entire plant was under 10 feet of water.
BTW, I rode out the hurricane at home and it was definitely an experience!

I may have to pick some up for the Subaru, Miata, and Mini. I usually use it in all our cars, but because of the limited miles I put on the Mustangs every year, I'd be ok with the Motorcraft semi-synthetic oil if I need to. Hopefully Walmart still has some left in the 5-qt jugs.

Stopped at the Walmart near work at 4am this morning and they were still fully stocked on every viscosity of M1 in the 5 qt jugs. I only bought one, but if they start getting scarce, I'll pick up a few more.

Well, to bring back an old thread, I stopped in my local WalMart this weekend and checked their stock of Mobil 1 again. They were out of about half the varieties in the 5-qt jugs, the ones they did have were fairly low, and the prices had been jacked up from around $22/5 qt up to $26. Looks like it might get scarce (and expensive) until production resumes again. Hopefully Wallyworld will lower their prices back down when they finally restock again.

Yep, noticed the price increase for motor oil - even out here. And not just for Mobil 1 either. Funny thing is, if you buy by the quart - there's a Japanese chain store that sells Mobil 1 for less than W@l M@rt. Go figure...
