Well, on the heels of Brad's RX8 thread, I thought I'd throw another Mazda thread out there. I'm not sure if anyone has seen this, but here's the new Mazdaspeed 6 concept, which is headed to production at some point. Highlights:

-274 hp 2.3 L T4
-AWD
-6-speed

I'm hoping this concept is sign of things to come in other Mazda products, including a more potent version of the RX8. Also, wouldn't it be great if they could put similar hardware in a new Focus SVT?

I was just abbreviating. "T4" was just shorthand for saying turbocharged 4 cylinder. But yes, the engine starts an inline 4. As for using the regular six as a starting point, I'm not sure; I'd like to see it, though, as well.

yeah, they mentioned that in one of the car mags this month, how its kinda funny that they took the four instead of the six. It always bothers me deep down inside when the highest performance engine offered in a car is the one with fewer cylinders. Like the 4Runner, the v6 has more hp than the v8 i think (less torque of course), or the S8 which is getting a lambo 5L v10 which'll be faster than the 6L W12. It just doesn't sound right, forced induction or not.
