Jaguar's all-new F-Type sports car is set to hit the market next spring with a variety of V6 and V8 powerplants but just one transmission option: an eight-speed automatic gearbox. However, a source at Jaguar has confirmed to Car and Driver that a six-speed manual will be added to the options list following the F-Type's launch. Instead of being a line-wide feature, the row-your-own gearbox might be limited to a single engine or enthusiast-specific trim level.
It seems the F-Type won't be the only upcoming Jag to get a three-pedal gearbox, with the source stating that another of the automaker's upcoming vehicles will offer a manual transmission - likely the oft-rumored X-Type successor.

If it goes anything like it looks, and they price at as aggresively as they did the E-Type back in the day, then they'll have a winner.

The Jaguar XKs were such beautiful, harmonious, distinctive automobiles. My wife's parents have a 2006 XK convertible (the last year of that body style) and it's a gorgeous car inside and out. To my eyes, this XK is a mess that incorporates designs from the Mercedes SLS, the last generation Maserati coupe, the Nissan 350Z, and the Honda S2000. It doesn't know what it wants to be.

If A Jag had a drunk threesome with a California and an SLS, this would be its child. And i must say its ine beautiful baby! The back end looks so sweet, ?specially with the quad tips!
