Only a tiny fraction of customers choose a stick shift for their Gallardo.
So what's the point of offering a manual ...

For the tiny fraction of customers that want them. If I was paying that much for a car I would want it a specific way. I would assume that even if they had to charge an extra $$$$ for a manual then people would pay it.

I guess the Balboni Gallardo was among the last to feature a manual. I certainly understand it from a business perspective though.

Volkswagon has a concept car that allows the car to drive itself for a short distance (I guess so the driver can concentrate on beating he kids in the back seat or leave a text on twitter on how cool the feature is) How long before a company like Lambroghini offers it as part of a hands off approach to getting the absolutely perfect launch - get in start the car roll to the line and bunch of sensors and actuators do the rest, no need to worry about those pesky reaction times and yet somebody will still brag that they beat you...

This all reminds me of the 90's when some people were questioning if you really needed a driver in an F1 car.

Hmmm... I don't know if I support this move or not...

Lamborghini should let me borrow a couple of their cars for a few weeks so we can all test out each system and make a truly qualified and informed decision on this!

There's dealer just about an hour away from me in Cincy that should have a few Lambo's, no extra shipping needed!

Lamborghini will lose less money by losing that "tiny fraction of customers" who wanna a manual transmission than developing a whole new manual transmission that can handle a V10 power, which at the end will be purchased by only few people.

I really couldn't care less if they offer a manual or not. If you can afford one and really need a manual transmission, then I'm sure you can afford to pay West Coast Customs to hook you up with a sick 15-speed manual transmission.
