Thumbs up

I am planning to shave the door handles on my car this summer... I want to know if I could switch the rods inside the door and have the keyless entry system operate the door latch.. Will it work? Thanx in advance...

Your best bet is to get a remote door release kit. It comes with everything and makes the install real easy.

I doubt the door lock solenoids have enough power to unlatch the doors. You could try jerry-rigging a mechanism to work, but just buying a kit will save you more time than the difference in price.

I agree with Steve, there is a fair amount of torque needed to open the doors, the release kit will have much beefier solenoids/motors. keep us updated with the pics as you start to do the work
