well i was at my girlfriends house about an hour from my house...and her and ran to the store..this is where things get interesting...on the way back about 10 minutes form her house...i hear a clunck and a growl...and my tranny puked..not just puked though mind you, there is a hole big enough for my fist and whats left of 2 gears in a puddle of tranny fluid on the ground...just got home happened last night i just stayed at her house and she brough me home today have to run down with the truck to get it next weekend...thank god it was the cutlass not the stang

yikes! A new tranny wold probably cost more than the thing is worth! Bummer man.

 

I too thought you were talking about your 'stang. I had a lump in my throat until the last sentence.
Can you find a used tranny from a junkyard to drop in or is it still more than Cutlass is worth? What year is cutlass? I used to have a 80 Cutlass Calais with a 260 v8. Nice ride, no power!

its a 1995 Cutlass Supreme SL, 3100 SFI V6, 4 speed auto, nice car, clean other than some typical michigan rust

 

That There was a catastrophical failure there....

 

all fixed...i managed to do it for 300 bucks including fluid and filter,flush,full checkup...thank jeebus, truck only gets 11mpg!

 

hard to see, but the pin sheared at the back of the spider gear, it actualy rotates the gear around to the opening and i could easly pull it apart...tranny slips a little now when its warm, i think its time to put her out to pasture
