Here's an interesting article about where the money goes when you buy different brands:

http://www.detnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll...57/1148/AUTO01

I thought this quote was very interesting:

"It is, in the end, a buy Big Three pitch," concedes Jim Doyle, president of Level Field. "But it's also a buy Honda over a Hyundai message." Among foreign automakers, "Honda has got the highest number of American employees per car. If you can convince someone who's going to buy a Hyundai to buy a Honda, jobs are served."

Out of all Japanese companies, I hate Honda the most (except 1992-1995 Civic).

It's in the General Vehicle Discussion forum (i.e. non-Mustang, non-Ford discussion).

I have a 06 Honda Civic that my wife and I just purchased a couple of months ago. She is getting 35 mpg on her 50 mile daily commute. It's a nice car with all the bells and whistles and we got it for $200 over invoice. I remember the days where dealers wouldn't sell them for a penny less than msrp. I have no issues with Honda motorcars.

I had a 2002 CR-V that I traded for a 2006 Pilot. No complaints from either. Before buying I do a lot of research and Honda is always near or at the top when it comes to reliability and safety.

Even though I started this thread, my experience with Honda (actually Acura) wasn't that good. My Integra needed more trips back to the dealer for warranty repairs than any other car I've ever owned (even all my Fords). Even after that experience, I would still consider a Honda or Acura.

My wife and I both had Accords, which were both made in America. I now drive an Infiniti I35, which was ALSO made in America. Just because it's an Asian company doesn't mean that Americans didn't build it.
This guy cracks me up -->

That was the point of the article I posted a link to. I guess you didn't read it.

Had a honda accord which gave me nothing but problems. Blown head gasket. Seal that pop out and oil leaked out of it lucky I was just backing out of the driveway. Radiator leaked. Finally found someone that bought it from me.

Yes, Honda makes good cars - I grudgingly give them that. The reasons I dislike Hondas are the "Fast and Furious" crowd (ugh), majority are front drive, they are the favorite targets of car thieves in Hawaii - because parts are expensive, and most "sport compact" Honda owners drive like they got something to prove - in other words, they drive like crap. Would rather buy a Mazda, but find myself looking at the newer Hondas, especially in light of higher gas prices...

My family has had their share of hondas... my brothers 96 accord is running perfect with 193,000 miles. so they do last forever.

There have been some recent "******" in Toyotas armor. That brand new Hi-perf Camry with the trannies failing and other problems is a big problem for them. Everyone thinks these guys build cars that have no problems. I'll tell you who builds cars with no problems. NOBODY!
