Ok, imagine ya got an extra 150 Gs laying around and you're looking at two Ford supercars. Which one would it be?

$150K wouldn't purchase you a Ford GT with the cars going on average $70-100K over sticker, and they are all gone. However, if I had to choose between the two, I'd pick up the GT. Since that's not going to be a reality, I'd love to pick up a GR-1 if it can be had for MSRP under six figures.

GT

4 reasons . . 1966, 1967, 1968, 1969 Le Mans! Both both are wonderful, and both have a nice racing heritage, but the GT looks the part a little better.

Gt does looks better, though I'd love to see a marriage between it and the Cobra's V10 B) Cobra looks damned good to be, though, and as long as the man likes it I don't have a big problem with Shelby being on the doorjam.

I would say GR-1 Just because the Shelby name will make it more valuable, besides 605 with a V-10=BOOYAH!!!

I go for the GT--that way I can keep my cars in the same family--in a way.
How?
Because the Saleen Special Vehicle facility does the final assemble of the Ford GT.

(But, I would then want a GR-1, too!)

Very tough choice, but I went with the GT. Either would be a nice addition to the garage eh? B)

I've loved the GT (GT40) ever since Ford won Le Mans with them back in the 60's. I saw one on a used car lot in Newport Beach in 1971. They wanted $13K for it, which was out of my reach at the time. I've looked at replicars, and Superformance is rumored to be developing one, and that's really tempting.

But the Shelby? That is so beautiful. I'd take either one.

I'll take the GR-1

I love the GT, but this GR-1 strikes a cord with me.

The GR-1's beautiful, but i find it doesn't stand out at all, like so many other amazing cars. I find cars like aston martins, ferraris, the viper, they all have a pretty typical fast car look, nothing special in their design. The GT-40 is very different, its got quite the distinctive look to it. The GR-1 does have those funky tail lights, but man, that's a little over the top for me.
