I actually saw a Ford GT at the bank!

I saw one in the show room of Ted Britt Ford in Chantilly. WOW is all that I can say. All of those rocket ship controls on the dash. Looks like back to the future. Laughed at the MPG ratings. I thought they were too high. Sticker said 139,000 but a salesman said they are selling it for 300,000. :worship:

Stumbling drunks would never get in the door. Do not underestimate the vehicle as it is not a machine for everyone. Only 1500 individuals will purchase an 05 and a limited few in 2006, throughout the world!
As a Sales consultant that worked with a gentleman that ordered, then waited 6 months for delivrey of his preferred 2005 GT, I can tell you that only a small few of us will ever appreciate how magnificent the machine is. The amount charged is insignificant to a person that recognizes the vehicle for what it is, truly magnificent.

Mike,
With all due respect, my point was mearly that I can go on ebay and get one now for 250K. A guy who lives by me in Anaheim Hills bought one for 200K.
Correct me if I am wrong but they are making 4000 to 4500 of these models over the next few years. I'll bet you a cup of coffee that that mark-up will not last, as history shows us.
Don't get me wrong either, at 150K I would sell my Shelby to get one. I feel that people are being taken advantage of, and I don't like that. For pete's sake, dealers are even marking up at 1 billion unit a year Mustang GT.
Here's to ya

The total build is projected at approximately 4,000 to 4500, depending on who you listen to at Ford. the Marketing department considers the 1500 2005 units as sold, and as is evident by the vehicles on e-bay the dealers have not sold all 1500 units.
The outlook is a three year build with a very small number projected for the third year. Production after that is null as the vehicle will not meet the more stringent safety crash requirements in 2007-2008.
The current offerings on e-bay are beginning to offer stock units, not order outs. The stock units are offering/selling $100,000 to $150,000 over sticker, not an uncommon occurrence for any exotic. The past offferings for GT's were for vehicles that dealers would sell and order, a big difference is that the dealer can deliver today not in six months. A local competitor did sell their Gt on e-bay for $260,000, not $300,000 as Ted Britt Ford in Chantilly. They did so in less than two weeks of receiving the machine.
I respect your opinion on the dealership "gouging". Premiums paid are the the opportunity considerations made when buying an exotic. Future price consideration is relevant to time and how long will a serious buyer wait to be an owner of an exotic when the price may go up! Anyway, it must be Nice to be in a position to consider a $300,000 vehicle purchase.
