RWD V8 under $30K sedan . . . got to give them credit for that.

EDIT:
Upon futher reading the V8 won't be under $30K, BUT if they can keep it under $36K with the V8 it might be a steal.

I've stated my opinion of Hyundai's on TMS before (based on experiences from my wife's Tiburon). It might look like a great deal but personally, I'd spend my money elsewhere even if the V8 were under $30K.

Your wife's Tiburon is hardly representative of what the quality the brand offers in the new Azera and Sonata. RWD and V8 is badass, though its gonna have to be a **** of a car to compete with the G8.

It doesn't matter to me what their quality is now. That car was the BIGGEST POS I've even seen. I will not shop Hyundais no matter what the price. In fact, the easiest way to p*ss my wife off is to say the word "Hyundai" to her. We sold the car in order to pay off the loan. If it hadn't been paid for, I would have torched it just to get the satisfaction of seeing the b*st*rd burn!

I'm going to have to agree with TomServo on this one. The motoring press can rant about how fantastic Hyundai and Kia's vehicles have become, but I think reality is still a long way from catching up with that perception. I have felt that way about these 'new Hyundais' since I watched the headlight assembly of a 2005 Hyundai, which was about six months old at the time, literally fall apart in the hand of an owner trying to replace a burnt out headlight.

Simply an unrelated, freak occurence? Possibly. But given the track record of the brand and the possibility that, upon closer examination, this appeared to have occured because of a choice by that auto maker to employ the cheapest plastics possible....I'm still a skeptic. The burden is on Hyundai to prove that their cars aren't the heaps they once were, and a few reviews from car mags proclaiming things kosher aren't enough to sway me.

Luxury sedan with V8 for under $30,000? Name one (other than this Hyundai).

You didn't comprehend my point. It's not about whether it's a luxury V8 sedan under $30K. It's the fact that it's freakin' Hyundai! I'd rather spend my money on a FWD V6 anything rather than buy a super-lux V8 Hyundai at any price.

I would rather own Hyundai than any other import.

They have good quality, they're cheap and they offer 10 years warranty.

This will be an interesting car to watch. I remember rumors a while ago of a shorter wheelbase version of this as a Tib. THAT would be one hell of an interesting car.

As for import shopping... someone has to say it... GO MAZDA!

Well, good luck with that. I hope your experience turns out far, far, far different than mine.

my 2006 Mustang's foglight bulb shrouds fell off after 700 miles. One interior piece located on the passenger foot well fell off, and it just cannot snap back in when its cold, its ok when its hot. HAhahah.. so Fords are not that much better off I guess.

It's just the brand I guess, some people(forum-er/enthusiasts) are just not accepting the brand yet. My friend's KIA sorento was perfectly reliable, and solid. He even drove it from Boston to Seattle.

So where's Ford's new RWD V8 sedan? Didn't think so. Like it or not, give Hyundai credit for developing this. Actually thought they were going to do a coupe first, based on rumors.

Problem is that it doesn't much look like a V8 sedan. Looks just like all the other import V6 clones. At least the Holden looks like it has a V8...
