I like my wheels 'filled in'. Just my taste though. I've never ridden a rigid, but I can only imagine that the ride has to be harsh at best.

ha hmmm maybe there is a special future brake pad and shoots out tiny invisible lasers that slow the wheel down with millions of tiny light particles.

i'd be willing to bet the brake is on the other side of the drive train to rim connection where we can't see it.
