I was wondering if the "truck of the Year" was actuailly a truck?
Does it use a normal truck frame or does it use a Unibody type frame?
Thanks for the help!

Unlike any other mid- or full-size pickup truck ever built, it is not made with body-on-frame construction, but with car-like unibody construction, a derivation of Honda's ``Global Light Truck'' platform like the Pilot SUV, but with 93 percent of the structural components transformed.

Hope this helps!

When your competition for Truck of the year were Mitsubishi Rider and Isuzu I-Series, its not really hard to win.

I am quite confused by the Ridgeline and honestly based on how many I've seen on the road, so is the general public. Let's face it, truck people aren't even thinking "Honda" when they go buy a new truck. I'm not really sure who will be interested in the Ridgeline. It'll be interesting to see if it succeeds long term.

I've seen about three or so around the area. They're a neat concept. I just don't think they were executed quite well enough.

My thinking is sort of the opposite.

I see the concept as sort of silly (a testament to just how stupid America's obsession with "big" even when they dont need it is) but well enough executed to almost make it worthwhile

Who wants to spend thier hard earned cash on such a stupid looking vehicle. If it had any kind of false status like garbage hummers and escalades it would sell. Its just plain stupid.

What is that? 14 days of F150 production? Should come with an "im with stupid" bumper sticker. Well, all the people growing up who wanted an Azteck but missed out finally have a new dream car. I wonder what will happen when the Sport Trac returns, I get quite a few people asking about them and we can't get a used one to sell here to save our lives.

You can't compare F-Series with Ridgeline. F-Series is better truck and a lot better seller. BUT Ridgeline only comes in SuperCrew version and 4-wheel-drive, I think it would be better seller if it came with SuperCab, RegularCab, 4x2 ... options.

Its a piece of crap, and makes absolutely no difference whatsoever to Ford so who cares. You have to be a DIE HARD honda bung buddy to go to a dealer and see one and say 'OH YEA, THIS IS ALLLL ME WHERE DO I SIGN? NOTHING JUSTIFIES HARD WORK LIKE HAVING THIS IN MY DRIVEWAY!-GOD I LOVE JAPANESE ENGINEERING"

wee look at me, I love me some Japanese

Cripes that thing gives me a headache looking at it.

Can the H be any bigger? They should get the gold emblem package. Should have big superman S for sucker.

If you don't like it - doesn't mean nobody does.

As controversial as the ridgeline is, I really like some of the neat features they did with it.

The Tailgate that can flip down and flip out seems like a good idea to me

The large locking compartment in the bed that can double as a big ice chest full of beer is also a great innovation.

I know the new Sport Trac has compartments, but they are much smaller overall.

The innovative double flip tailgate dates back to early 70's american station wagons. Fancier station wagons got a power hideaway tailgate that slid under the floor. So going out in a truck with 30 beers somewhere, how do you get home? I'm still trying to fathom now what I would use the storage for. Jumper cables, in case? umm, huh. If you keep your car clean you don't need storage like that, anything you would be taking along would already be in a portable container. Does this mean you have to stay around or go back to the truck if you want refreshments? Built in coolers are for boats. The commercial with the fish-would you actually go fishing, put the fish in the cooler on the boat, take it back out of the cooler and put it in the freshly iced storage bin, take them back out and put them back in the cooler when you got home and finally transfer them again to fridge? Or would a $15 Coleman icebox suffice.

The cooler in the bed thing is a one time gimmick about as usefull as a 'sport shift' automatic.
