I want to see a comparison test (ala Road&Track) with these great American V8 coupes head-to-head.

Ford GT500
Steeda Q with a S/C
Roush Stage 3
Saleen Mustang with a S/C
Corvette with Z51 pkg
Corvette Z06

I want to see 0-60, 0-100, 60-0, 100-0, 0-100-0, a slalom, 1/4 mile, 1/8 mile, top speed, and some laps on a road coarse. I believe the Z06 will finish first when comparing these cars. However, i'm not sure where the rest will fall.

What else, did I miss anything? That was my fantasy match, lets hear yours.

 

R&T used to put out some great 'special' issues. I haven't seen any in some time, but it would be nice to see another with the autos you listed.

 

Sounds like a video game. There should be a downloadable program that you can input the vehicles' specs and hit the enter key- Viola... instant matchup with comparables . Who needs R&T, C&D, etc... lol.

 

While the punching numbers might be cool... automotive journalism is more than just that.

R&T this months has a Z06 a Z51 vette and a GT500 comparo, they also throw in a GT/CS. No Roush, Steeda, or Saleen though...

 

MM&FF did this test a couple issues ago...i'll post the results when i get a chance to look at the exact numbers.
