The Pontiac GTO.R finished 20th out of 27 cars in the GT class in its debut at the Rolex Series Brumos Porsche 250. By the way, finishers 26 and 27 of 27 in the class were also GTOs (not GTO.Rs).
Thats great!I was wathcing a bit of it last night on Speed right when the Stewart/ Wallace car (is this the one?) was leaking water and coolant all over the track. What ended up being the problem? Was it a loose hose as suspected by the commentators?
Thanks Brad!
Poor GTO's. I was saddened when Brad told me they were in a class above the stang's so they wont directly compete.
I wonder about the corporate decision to include the GTO and GTO.R in GT as opposed to Grand Am Cup. Maybe the specs for GT are similiar to SPEED World Challenge GT so Pontiac can provide cars that can race in either class?
haha I thought the problem with the GTO was with styling. I think I heard somewhere that when they put a new car into the series they limit it somehow so it doesn't run away with the race.
I realize that the mustang did very well in it's debut, but could this be the reason GTO did so bad?
