Got's me another Jeep!!!

Shopping for my wife's Commander got me bit by the Jeep bug again. Actually, it's not a bite. It's a disease that was just in remission for a while, but being in the Jeep dealers looking at Commanders had me wanting another Wrangler. So now that Commander has a garage-mate.

Don't they make a great pair?

I've been looking for Months for this Jeep. An unmolested 98 4.0 5spd, w/ 47K mi and at $6,400 it's a steal. Hard doors, soft top, A/C, tilt and cruise... you just don't see all of this and this combo in a Wrangler. Only mod has been an aftermarket CD player, other than that, 100% stock. It even came with a bikini top and a car cover. Pretty clean, except for some dog scratches on the doors which I'm trying to work out. All-in-all, I'm thrilled.

That 4.0 straight 6 is a living legend. I've had 2 Wranglers in the past, both 4cyls, so this 6cyl is a treat. I sold my last Wrangler to buy the Mustang. Between the two motors for the Jeep, not much difference around town, but definitely stronger on the highway. Gas mileage sucks with either motor, but since I'm planning on keeping this thing for a long time the 4.0L is the motor to have.

Very clean. Are you going to wheel it?
It would look perfect with some 33's

I'm a Jeep fan too. Great price on that Wrangler. I would have a hard time passing up a deal like that. The Wrangler looks like it is in excellent condition and that 4.0 will run forever.

Not really looking to wheel it much. Been there, done that. I ran a small lift and big mudders on my old Jeep. These things are so capable that you don't need much more than a good set of AT's to tackle most trails. I'll have fun with it as-is, it's hard to find a Jeep in such good shape.

Swap out the stock 4.10 gears out in the Wrangler might help your MPG some. Definitely fan of the older Jeeps, friend has a new Wrangler Rubicon and it just doesn't feel like a Jeep should

I wonder if I could swap the Mustang's and Jeeps gears?

I don't know enough to know if I could or not, but it's rhetorical more than anything. I won't be doing it... although if I knew how to do it myself I may attempt it...

my jeep has the 4.0 Inline 6. That's a nice jeep, love that it's a manual. Time for the doors to come off though!

Those 4.0L straight sixes are almost bulletproof. They can take a 100 shot of NOS without giving a sweat!

Looks great John.

My father has been looking for one for a while now. Everytime he finds one it sells before he can get there. Used Jeeps fly off the lot around here. He even had a verbal agreement to buy one from a used dealer over the phone that I saw, and by the time he got down there they SOLD IT! They sold it out from under him in 30 minutes!

Anyway. Looks awesome man. And yest 4.0 I6 is a legend and a treat!

I had a heck of a time getting my hands on one. I had the same thing happen to me several times. Find a Jeep, and the day it's listed you call the seller and it's sold that evening.
I was glad to finally get this one.
