Gone to the enemy - Mopar Charger SRT*
Stangers,
Yes, sold my '07 CS/GT and purchased an '08 Dodge Charger SRT8. No haters here please ---heh, at least it is american!
Love the 6.1L Hemi - monstrous off-idle with the 420 ft-lbs of torque......Also, plenty of room as the family grows.......

The SRT8 is a sweet car. I test drove one before I was even thinking about getting a Mustang. BAD *** is all I said afterwards. I loved that when I was coasting at 20mph, that I fishtailed when I mashed on the gas.
After I jumped up in pay quite a bit, I started dreaming about cars, and what I would want. I was actually avoiding the Mustang because the 90's style was just too common, and everybody had one. I didn't want the same for the new style Stang, so I started looking at the Charger. You don't see many on the streets with an R/T or above. So before I knew my budget, I shot high. The SRT8. But soon found out what I could afford. I started looking at the R/T with the Road & Track package. Still a little too much. Close, but just out of reach. Then I decided that I would give the Mustang a try, and do some reasearch on them.
And well, I ended up with a 2006 GT. But right before I bought it, I was thinking that I would get this, keep it for a year, and then maybe I would be making enought to get the R/T R&T, or SRT8. And well, now I think I will hold off for a couple more years. I'm liking the Mustang right now.

Congrats on the new vehicle. I hope it is lots of fun.
Good deal (fair enough that I would accept it on a car I really want), not very sweet IMO.
I would make sure I drove the G8,the Genesis and some others before I added this to my stable, in that price range there are plenty of good 4 door cars (maybe all not American).

Nice car, and hey if you've got a family then you'll need the doors...I love Mustangs but it isn't necessarily a car for a growing family. The Charger is great, you get a family car when you need it and tons of power...its all good. Congrads

Thanks. Drove them all. I'll never buy anything that is Non-American (well at least American Make). Given all that is going on --I just feel it is the right thing to do.. Ridiculous price at the Pontiac dealer (full MSRP +TTL)...... Didn't have a DVD option for the back seat, can't touch the looks of the SRT8. (You just get a much better deal on SRT8s as they've been making them since '06. Also, the Navigation, Sirius Satellite radio, etc. etc. (I had read how wonderful the new G8 was...when you actually get down to the dealer, drive one, compare features--no contest..... Another thing about the Pontiac--when you nail it, it's a strange feeling (you know you're moving it on out) but it's too quiet/subdued...strange. The charger srt8---now that's a different story....downright nirvana to hear those pipes blowin'. I've driven a lot of vehicles in my time, there is nothing like opening up this Hemi on a long stretch.......YACHTZEE---look at that underhood shot.
happy motoring........ I'll be lookin' for you out there in MoparLand...sorry couldn't resist. OK, I better get out of here before I ruffle my Mustang brothers/sisters too much

As for Quarter-mile, well that's going to take a little more mod $$$$ from you. These things are torque-monsters......
Happy and safe motoring......
