wow....looks like "America's Brand" is now officially America's Toilet.....They GLUE the roof on?????? and they are looking for a "better adhesive".....call me old fashioned, but maybe they should try good old nuts and bolts...

There are reasons the car is as light, fast, and affordable as it is. And anyway, automotive epoxy is a fairly common way to adhere body panels.

Isn't the Lotus Elise built using the same methods? Maybe GM should use both epoxy and nuts and bolts "just to be sure." Glad my relative decided not to get one after all...

Awww......they are getting rid of the "auto roof detach" option, **** and I really wanted one too. Would have made a great frisbe to play with in the park.

If it's fairly common then they shouldn't have had the issue in the first place. It sounds like someone cheaped out on the adhesive.

I never said the issue was justifiable, merely that nuts and bolts needn't be the solution.

I always thought it was DOORS that get blown off, not roofs. I'm a little disappointed that Ford doesn't offer this option on their cars.
