What we might see in Detroit is a "Mustang" concept. Ford did release a Mustang I concept in 1962 that presaged some of the production Mustang's stylistic themes even if the actual production car was quite different.
A 2013 Mustang concept car would likely be far closer to the eventual production car reality than the Mustang I was.

Well... just random thoughts here, but, we're kinda in a no man's land in a chronological sense. Evos is getting long in the tooth and we're likely months (if not a full year) away from seeing a full on Mustang concept. I'd hope for maybe an Evos 2, or some display of evolution of the Evos design as it 'could' pertain the the future Mustang design.
Since I honestly have little to no expectation of that happening, what I 'could' see happening, and would very much enjoy, would be a US-bound Falcon concept, and if not that, perhaps an evolved Interceptor Concept, and a SVT F-150 for the street, based on the Raptor's success. Pipe dreams, but hey, it's fun to dream.

Didn't Ford say something about a Ford GT successor with a.... ugghhhhh hybrid drivetrain? I haven't anything more on this but maybe its still in the cards?

bob, given the stats on recent hybrid supercars, I'd not be the least bit ashamed of a hybrid GT equivalent. Look at the new Porsche 918 Hybrid. Has like 800 hp and gets 78 mpg. Who WOULDN'T want that?! Granted, the price is a little high on that one, as it's a Porsche hypercar hybrid, but still. The technology exists. Look at Teslas. Not exactly what I'd call boring cars by any stretch of the imagination.
