FORD SALES DROP 32% IN DECEMBER
FORD SALES DROP 32% IN DECEMBER
That is trumpeted on Yahoos homepage like a proud announcement of more failure by American car manufacturers as they continue to get beat up at the showrooms.
BUT....
TOYOTA SALES DROP 37%!
The only difference??? Toyota is 5% WORSE, and alas, not on the front page of Yahoo. They do talk about it in the article, but why wouldn't that 5% deeper decline be the headline with Fords 32% being the additional information??
The lopsided commentary continues with negative bias toward Detroit.

Indeed. Ford's market share hadn't gone UP in years, yet when it happened in November NOBODY reported it. To me, that US buyers favor a US company's vehicles in a very harsh economic climate says something, but nobody seems to be hearing it.
I was listening to the news when it was reported this morning. The Bias in reporting now a days borders on sensationalism and does not report accurately anymore.
The simple fact is the american people are scared to death about what is going on with jobs and the like and are refusing to spend on any large ticket item. It is a GLOBAL issue with the industry as a whole and the boys in detroit are not alone in those numbers.
It is only their past mistakes that has put them under the glass of scrutiny with todays financial news, not sales!
All carmakers are faced with low numbers...the media... arrrrrrrgh! why don't they report the numbers for ALL manufactures then we can see the real picture!

I guess December wasn't really better than November as they were hoping:
