Big 3 won't go down because they can't go down. They are way to powerfull to go down just because they are losing right now.
But they also won't ever make profit like Imports do. Big 3 are losing to Imports on home court; I don't even wanna think how "good" Big 3 would do in Asia or even Europe (just to make things clear, European Ford is not as same as American Ford).

Hey Jeff, How's it going? Now guys I just want to say that this gentleman right here knows exactly what he is talking about. As much as I dislike GM I completely agree that they do need each other. This is just a temporary lapse. No one stays in first place forever. Which means a certain asian company that I tend to dislike will probably also suffer a lapse one of these days too.
Also I'm guessing that it takes a while for people to start catching on to the new models when they are so accustomed to the cars they've been driving for years.
Also I noticed over the last few years that Consumer Reports and many other magazines have been rating the Fords better and better each year!
Thanks for the input Jeff, its good to see information from the inside!
Oh and by the way, we may be calling upon your services in the next year. The wifey wants an Explorer or Escape real bad!

Hey, whats up Andy, long time no talk. Your right about some of the import styling, the Ridgelime is just plain FUGLY, LOL. I wouldn't worry too much right now about the "Junk Bond" rating. If anyone remembers a long time ago, Chrysler was thisclose to going under. Ford and GM came together to get them afloat, thought they won't actually admit to this. I believe this was back in the early 80's. Just remember, the BIG 3 need each other. There is NO WAY either GM or Ford would ever go under. This would never happen. The govenment wouldn't let it happen. I personally have a good amount of Ford stock, and I'm not too worried. I am hanging onto it for the long haul, when I am in my mid 50's 20 years from now. So whatever it is doing now, I am not too concerned. If I was more into flipping stock for quick profit, YES, then I would be worried.
To get them on the right track, the Fusion launch will be one of the most important launches in recent years of a car for Ford. This will IMO, help out alot, as it is a great looking car, has alot of options, its priced right, and the gas mileage of the 4-cylinder will bring in people who rouinely go after the low end Accords, and Camrys. It will get better, it will just take some time. Keep the faith. :flag2:

That's pretty much it where Domestic vehicles are wining. Compare Ford's car sales with Toyota's car sales. Toyota knows how to build quality car even without V8 engine; Ford can't build quality car without V8 under the hood (Crown Victoria and Mustang).
But once again, Japanese cars are IMPORTS here and they are wining in a foreign country. How would Ford, Chrysler and GM do in Japan?

Actually a lot of Asian people like domestic vehicles because of their size and power. Look at Hau Thai-Tang. He's from Vietnam and he even said himself that most asians are amazed with American automobiles. I see the majority, at least around here of Asian people driving Lincoln, up scale Chryslers and some BMW and Mercedes. It isn't often that I see them driving toyotas or hondas.

So Andy, why Ford, Chrysler and GM are not importing their cars in Asia?
I'm from Europe and European Ford is pretty cool car there. Not the best one, but not the worst one either. Focus was really popular in 1999, Escort and Sierra were also nice cars, but in the past few years Ford went down. I have friend in Germany who currently owns 2 BMWs. We just spoke about Fords in Europe recently, he told me that other than Ford Ka, Ford is not very popular in Europe anymore.

the domestic vehicles are qaulity, except GM of course. I love the new Dodges and Fords, but u are dead set against any non-V8 Domestic being any good, u need to wake up because look at Paul's SVOs pushing 400hp, they are sweet and durable.

Before my current cars, I had 91 Taurus and 92 Escort. Both were junk. Now I have 97 Intrepid and 00 Mustang and they are also junk (Mustang less because it only have 29,000 miles). Chrysler have good quality cars because they are V8. Only car from Chrysler that does stink is Serbring/Stratus and that's because they're V6. I have V6 product from Chrysler and I know how big of a junk it is.
You are the one who needs to wake up. You hate everything that is not Ford and according to you Ford makes the best quality cars in the world. I don't hate Ford and there is good enough reason why I'm saying all this. Company is losing money, sales are down (other than Mustang), just look how many recalls Focus had in the past 5 years. There is good reason why all that is happening to Ford and GM and not to Toyota, Honda or Nissan. I changed 3 Fords in past 4 years, I know how "good" they are. Even Mustang with 29,000 miles and Mustang is supposed to be best quality domestic cars.

Uncle had 4 stratus's all V6s, no problems until he got into an accident with the last one when it had 120k miles.
if your mustang is such junk sell it to someone who appreciates it. My brother in-law went from a 32k dollar VW Passat to a 00 V6 mustang and is in love, he lost all that moneys worth of car and all the german engineering and is truly impressed. i DO NOT hate all non-ford, i would buy a Cummins Diesel in a heartbeat. and u only talk about how good toyota is, i have never heard u compliment a ford ever.. ford does make some of the best qaulity to price cars in the world. look how many recalls the camry has had in the past 5 years

Because there is nothing to compliment. I used to be big Ford fan, but personal experience with Fords made me change my mind. How am I supposed to feel when I bought 3 Fords and they were nothing but junk?
Could I please see the proof of all those Camry's recalls in the past 5 years?
