Ford Fairlane Concept
I've blown it up and blurred it a bit, and I still can't tell. It's either a stationwagon-looking thing kinda like the Magnum, or it's a sedan with a disguise on top to make it look like a wagon. Blurred, I can almost see a beefy sedan shape under it, but the back end still looks too boxy for that.

The Ford Fairlane concept is a possibility for a segment-busting people mover. It explores a blend of upscale, modern design with Ford hallmarks of safety, interior spaciousness and functionality. The vehicle is named for the splendor of Henry Ford's Fair Lane estate in Dearborn, Mich.
The vehicle's well-balanced proportions and modern design cues will appeal to young families and age-defying Baby Boomers, who want a distinguished people mover that doesn't sacrifice style, space or function.
The spacious interior features an aircraft-inspired three-zone interior with a driver-focused front cabin, a first-class second row and a functional, durable rear utility area. The third zone features an industry-first triple-action tailgate and unique "rolling kitchen" concept that takes food storage and preparation out of quiet kitchens to family events.
Ford's new CD3 platform forms the basis for the vehicle. The vehicle features Ford's advanced safety technologies, including the AdvanceTrac stability control and Safety Canopy rollover protection systems.

:notnice:i see a styling trend on the new concepts that ford is following, and i dont like it. no, i dont like it one bit
dammit, i thought SUVs were going out of fashion. Ford doesn't need a new SUV in its lineup. The role this thing plays is basically a station wagon, just like the freestyle. Why make it all tall and blocky like an SUV?
I'm alright with the freestyle, its a bit shorter, a bit more aerodynamic than this thing. I'd like them to make a wagon based around the fusion, but this is definitely not a wagon.

say no to blocky suv's
and yes to cool wagony curves
Yuk, another SUV! Why couldn't they hang the Fairlane name on the Fusion? Even though it is a wrong wheel driver, it's still closer to the original Fairlane than this Scion wannabe. As a vintage Fairlane owner, I hardly wait for the response from soccer moms when I mention that I own a Fairlane. Now I know how the vintage GTO guys must feel.
According to Autoweek.com, this is supposed to be a minivan replacement for Ford. I'm sorry, but the Ford Fairlane is a classic nameplate and it is being disgraced by assigning it to a freakin' minivan. :notnice:
