Ford came out with the 49 concept car. Chrysler came out with there's. Chrysler built theres (300/300C) and they can't build them fast enough, might I add won car of the year. Ford didn't built there's and declared this year "the year of the car" and gave us the 500. Basically the replacement for the Taurus. Otherwise known as more of the same. They had no B*lls to try the 49 concept. Had they it would of been the sucess of the Chrysler 300C. I have never bought a Chrysler in my life (which is over 100 new car purchases). But since Ford didn't build it I did not come. But this year (2004) I bought a 300C, and since I was there bought a 2005 Grand Caravan and oh yes I traded the 2002 Tbird in on a 2005 Mustang GT-which I love. The mustang is what it should be, but if Ford would of offered the 49 I would of bought it and I would not of bought the Dodge mini van. Ford would of had 3 2005 sales from me not just 1 and that's 3 05's and its still 04! I think if Ford could get the 49 concept out in 24 months they would still be on cutting edge but I'm afraid they opt to be more of the same, boring. FORD LEARN FROM THE MUSTANG, Build the 49 concept.

I gotta agree Upstate. Both 49 and 427 concepts were very cool. I'm sure Ford's financial position played into the decision not to build them. Instead, they invested the money in the GT, which is a nice halo car but out of the reach of most of us. Maybe with the success of the Mustang, they'll be willing to take a few chances.

The 2008 Ford Crown Victoria/Mercury Grand Marquis will get the Australian Ford Falcon's chassis. Hopefully, they will call the Ford a "Falcon" and the Mercury a "Marauder."

Given the Fusion isn't the "Big" car to compete against the 300, but it does look pretty sweet.

Around here 500's and Freestyles are sellin really good. There's not one day the I drive that I don't see 2 or 3 of each. Again, still not the 300 fighter, but I do agree Ford missed an opportunity, but at the same time Chrysler doesn't have anything to compete against our Beloved Mustang and I know it's hurting them more then it hurts Ford.....then again, nobody has anything to compete in the class of the Mustang.

I've seen exactly 1 500 on the road and tons of 300s. Yeah, Ford blew it with the 500, the 49 and the 427. But maybe we should just be thankful they got the Mustang right...

i know what you mean upstate. the 500 is a nice car, but not a 300C competitor. the 49 and 427 concepts were slick. Ford needs a new RWD sedan. and i cant wiat for the falcon to get here. we've waited so long for it. at least....i have

BTW u guys think they'll bring the UTE version of the Falcon? (see image)

Yes I am another that can't wait for the Falcon to come back here to North America, and I really wish they would bring the Pursuit over too. That little car-truck is one sweet looking ride with tons of performance backing it.
