As I have said before, GM execs keep "spin doctoring" every car's failure into a story about how it is a Halo car and is ment to move the brand. Start subtracking all the Halo cars from GM's lineup and your left with very few choices in the over 30 thousand markets. Excluding Corvette, they have all been failures.

The problem with the 05 SSR is still price. Used prices on the 04 SSR have hit 26K advertised in my area with a modest 9K miles. How do you sell a 50K vehicle that now looks like it will lose 50% value in one year, and not expect to lose money if you are mass producing them? GM should have thought about the buyer's "perceived depreciation" before writing off the 04s as overproduction failures. They have single handedly destroyed their own image within their own market. They should have pushed back the 05 models to clear the lot of 04s.

Galaxie hit the nail on the head. Corvette should be the only Halo vehicle for Chevy. Pontiac needs a Halo car that looks the part and brings actual buying excitement and recognition to the brand. I still think Caddy is doing a much better job but need more products and choices.

The GTO would be sweet if you reworked the rear and gave it a real exhaust, not that twin tip crap, and a scopp and some beefy tires and wheels.

Doug,
The GTO is actually a true dual exhaust, it just exits the same end on the '04's

Maybe they will get the 2008 model right, considering they have had plenty of time and have a fantastic Mustang to benchmark itself against. If it ends up on the Zeta platform, that will probably mean an IRS for the people who love the twisties.

As far as the XLR, I said it when I first saw it at the NYC car show 3 years ago, its a great looking car and im sure its nice, but why would I want to pay 20 grand more for a corvette in caddy badges? Its stupid.
