Check out the pics, it looks very wierd. It's supposed to allow more overtaking.

Speedtv.com also had a little article regarding the new wing, might be the same write-up. I think this may be very cool . .especially with wider tires/wheels!!

I'd love to see more passing on the track than in the pits. Besides, they've had wierder looking designs in the past. Especially back in the 70's.

a good idea. Something else in the article was the "Wider wheels and slicks". Do you get the impression that the FIA are backtracking? I am sure they put a lower limit on wheel width and banned slicks "for the good of the sport" about 5 years ago????

The FIA shoudl have listened to fans in the first place, maybe then, F1 would still be as popular as it was in the 80's, when "proper" racing was encouraged.

Well I still think F1 racing should be a no holds bar when it comes to engine design, Turbo V-8's, V-10's, V-12s!! I like the limiting in downforce, I think that will make a HUGE difference in competition as far as passing in the corners though!!

If this wing can increase the amout of passing in a race I'm all for it. I've been following Formula 1 since the late 50's and while I still enjoy it today, I preferred the actual racing in the good old days. All too often now the podium is determined by lap times in practice and how well a car/driver get off the starting grid. After that it's a parade, albeit a very fast one.
