Ferrari California
The new "baby" GT is finally here. Somewhere in the range of the price of the F430, but with front engine it shouldn't be competing with any of the same customers. Folding hard top, but no pictures of the top up yet.

I'd give it about a 7 or 8 out of 10 on styling. Nice general shape and all, but a bit fussy and slightly disjointed in the detailing as compared to Pinninfarina's better works. Not ugly by any means, but seems more of a well done design committee piece than a singular vision work of art. Should be a fantastic drivers car though and a nice fit into Ferrari's lineup.
Aside: Kinda wish they'd gone to a smaller displacement V12, in the 4 liter class, for that Nth degree of music and uniqueness, even though the V8 is a superb motor in its own right.

first move of the exotics trying to make newer more fuel efficent models.
I like the side profile, but not really liking the front or rear.

I like the side and rear, and the fact that they are getting away from having the same interior in EVERY car, dont like the front too much, other than the fact that it's got the classic grill

October is when the first scheduled build date is set. I don't think we'll see any F149's here 'til December at the earliest.
The things I don't like are the hood, and the vent/scoop on the side. Those would be a reasonably easy fix, though.

The 8C and Maserati Grand Turismo top this one fairly easily, but I think that the retro throw backs are (obviously) in fairly high demand these days, so the California nomenclature could carry this car.
Meh, looks alright, but theres no way id take that over an F430... or even a 360...
Its too conventional, i like my exotics impractical, complicated, and thirsty.

Over an F430, probably not. Over a 360... I was never a fan of those except the CS. I'd definitely take a CS over it, but their current model is far more appealing to me than any others in the recent past. (Save for the 575M)
Without a doubt! Im still bitter that i didnt see a Koenigsegg when i was in vegas last summer cus none of my buddies wanted to pay 5 bucks to go in and look at it...
And pete, im with ya on the 550/575, probably the best looking car from pininfarina in the last 40 years.
