Ex wifes junk mail
Pontiac made a movie to sell this car, The Last Ride. It is from the director of the Fast and Furious. I guess that explains the riced up gauges in this thing. The only thing they really have on us is the six speed. 13.8 1/4 mile my old stock 88 mustang Lx could do that.
I also posted this on Mach 1 Registry.com....If you go to MSN Auto website and compare pics of the GTO and the BMW 3 series (330i), you'll notice a very strong resemblance ! You really don't notice it one-on-one, but side-by-side...I think Holden was trying to create an Aussie BMW clone.
I would agree that the GTO profile is very similar to the BMW 3 series.
According to some of the Aussie guys on the GTO forum, that was a target for them to compete with as well as Mercedes. They also had to go up against the Nissan R34 Skyline (the single turbo, not the twin turbo) which we never got in the US.

Having red faces makes them rice gauges?
(pages Ferrari to fix the Enzo)

Are those more acceptable then?
A MAF 5.0 HO, bone stock, was quite capable of low fourteens... The LX models were lighter than the GTs. I doubt high 13's are possible bone stock, buteven with minor modifications, they're easily attainable.
