Tough choice. They're all the best at what they do.
Elise: Exotic looking nearly racecar, with all the pros and cons. Crude and not that quick.
Vette: Fastest/most powerful by far. Comfortable and livable for what it is, but quite commonplace.
Boxster: Probably the best daily driver, Porsche name, phenomenal balance, but slowest and will never be a Cayman or 911.
Soo, get the elise if you're looking for a weekend toy (and can fit).
Get the Vette if you need a fast as **** daily driver and don't really care about exclusivity.
Get the Porsche if you want a beautiful daily driver with incredible dynamic feedback and balance but don't race stoplight to stop light--and don't mind looking like a douche.

I know. But choose one anyways.
A buddy of mine, has a friend at Porsche North American Hqtrs. According to his friend, the car they [Porsche] were most concerned about affecting the sales of their Boxter was the new vette (2005+).
I thought these would be three good choices to compare.

Its almost impossible to get an acurate say from any car enthusiust website. If you post on domestic site most will say vett. if you post on asian import site then most will say elise. if you post on european import site then most will say boxter.

Tough choice, indeed!
However, living in Europe I'd go for the Corvette, because that's an exotic here, despite it's highly likely problems with city driving and parking over here. In the US I'd choose the Elise for the exotic factor, which should anyway be the obvious choice for me, due to its raceability on one hand and its better potential as a daily driver (again, over here).
The Boxter I'm sorry, but I don't like its looks at all.

I'd take the Elise over the other two and here is my reasons. The Lotus is very exclusive. Yes its crude, but it is fast, and the savings will lead to mods to really make it fly. The Vette, you see them EVERYWHERE! And the Porsche, unless your ready to make the service department a routine stop, I'd say stay away. Plus, the prices for servicing those cars are outrageous.
Plus, with the Elise, you can find leftovers and maybe even get deals on them. The only Lotus dealer near me (Rothrocks in Springfield PA) had 10 Elise's in stock. A mix of 2006 and 2007's about 4 months ago, plus they had an Exige too. Heck, if your really dilligant, and can find one, look for some used ones that WERE NOT tracked!! My friend called me and said his boss got a new (used) car. I guessed, didn't get it, and was floored when he told me it was an Elise, and he only paid $32,000 for it with a few thousand miles. Never tracked, and it was mint. Total steal. Plus, you really won't see many (if any) of that car out and about (depending on where you live). Go with the Lotus.

Elise and Cayman aren't stupendous the only Porshes I would actually buy, the Elise is the best handling sportscar in the world but a bit too minimalist, and other than power and heritage the Vette's not that thrilling. I vote AM V8 Vantange

I did answer with my vote, and I gave my opinion of all the cars in the poll. If you don't like that I threw in the AM, you'll just have to suffer.

You said you voted AM V8...so what did you vote for?
I only said that casue the guy was asking a simple question and you were going to make it complicated. cause then other people will bring up other cars... so just outta respect for the original poster I thought it was best not to mention alternatives to his basic question.

Boxter, hands down. In a spec sheet comparo with these two it may not win in a single category, but it's very likely to be number two in almost all of them and is a better balanced car in many respects than either of the others. Give the Elise a better engine and I might overlook it's shortcomings as a daily ride. Give the Vette a better interior and a greater measure of poise and I might not scoff at it's price of entry.
The Porsche is the only one that is good at everything and will never make you wonder where they cut corners top keep the price down. Even better, if they gave the 911 the H.O. 8 cylinder engine it truly deserves at this stage then the Boxer could simply inherit the 911's hand me down 6 without any detuning arguably making the 911/Boxter the best sports car lineup in the world....and eliminating any significant reason to pick the Vette over the Boxter. Hey, a guy can dream

voted for the Elise as well, if you can fit in it comfortably. I had my doors blown off by one last summer and I've had a fondness for them ever since. Nearly every vette owner I've ever met or seen has been either a moron or a retired guy.

I vote Corvette... It's most well-rounded in that it handles well, accelerates well, and probably the most comfortable. It also has the most horspower & torque of the three.
The Elise looks cool and is probably the purest sports car of the the three, but it's more of a weekend toy and probably not comfortable for daily driving or long trips.

But, why isn't the 911 isn't in the poll instead of the Boxter?
