Drove a Dodge today

I drove a Challenger back in 2009 when I first started looking at the Mustang. I liked it OK, but the simple matter of no available power passenger seat at any level irked me enough to mark it off the list. I'm funny that way.

My '10 V6 had the comfort package, and the power passenger seat... but the '12 GT doesn't. So being a reasonable fella, I've decided that alone shouldn't be an automatic disqualifier for Dodge anymore. And I've been in a Mustang for over three years now. At least one year beyond my typical 'itch' cycle.

So I went and looked today. Drove the 5.7 with 6sp MT. Completely underwhelming in comparison to the GT as to power, and the interior was quite bland. I do like the exterior styling, and could take a piece from several packages and make a fine looking ride... but I won't be.

I drove some rentals that were Dodge and like you I was utterly and completely underwhelmed, makes me wonder how they sell the cars, glad I have a Mustang.

I have seen quite a few this weekend and I do like them. I actually test drove one and liked it. My favorite thing about the car was the driver's seat. It felt a little like a cockpit, which I enjoyed. Way better looking than a Camaro!

From what I have read, Dodge is going to build a Challenger that is more powerful and lighter than the 2014 Z28 Camaro. The Challenger may require a second look in a few months. Hopefully, Ford is considering offering a stripped down Mustang real soon.

what rear did it have? it prob also had 20's, those wheels are like a boat anchor on the car.

you can't really compare a Challenger to a Mustang, that would be like comparing a Concord to an F-14
they're both fast but one's a big family car
the Mustang is lighter and quicker off the line, the Dodge is a cruiser but it still has *****, it'll brake 120 before you could blink

I could live with a car called a Hellcat. There is a small article about the Hellcat in the latest issue of Autoweek.
