Ford has announced a $750 rebate for residents of the following counties if they purchase a new vehicle by 1/06. '05 Mustangs are included.

Ford Division is announcing a $750 Disaster Relief Program (Pgm#1946) on all new 2005/2006-Model Ford Division Vehicles through F-550 (Excluding 2005/2006-Model Ford GT, Escape Hybrid and 2006-Model Mustang), effective August 31, 2005 through January 3, 2006.



-NOTE: The $750 Disaster Relief Program (Pgm#1946) is available to the victims of Hurricane Katrina.



- Effective August 31, 2005 through January 3, 2006


Residents of the following counties/parishes:


Alabama:

Baldwin, Clarke, Choctaw, Mobile, Sumter, and Washington


Florida:


Broward, Miami-Dade, Monroe


Louisiana:

Acadia, Ascension, Assumption, Calcasieu, Cameron, East Baton Rouge, East Feliciana, Iberia, Iberville, Jefferson, Jefferson Davis, Lafayette, Lafourche, Livingston, Orleans, Plaquemines, Pointe Coupee, St. Bernard, St. Charles, St. Helena, St. James, St. John, St. Mary, St. Martin, St. Tammany, Tangipahoa, Terrebonne, Vermilion, Washington, West Baton Rouge, West Feliciana, Allen, Avoyelles, Beauregard, Bienville, Bossier, Caddo, Caldwell, Catahoula, Claiborne, Concordia, Desoto, East Carroll, Evangeline, Franklin, Grant, Jackson, LaSalle, Lincoln, Madison, Morehouse, Natchitoches, Ouachita, Rapides, Red River, Richland, Sabine, St. Landry, Tensas, Union, Vernon, Webster, West Carroll, and Winn

As nice as that is, $750 doesn't really seem like that much for a relief especially as hard hit as some of those places were.

Seems like a drop in the hat or is that on top of the employee discount?

It is supposidly good with any other rebate plus it is good on 05 Mustang. Granted it is a drop in the bucket but every little bit helps. The Automotive News states that 250,000-500,000 vehicles were flooded so a lot of people will have to buy another car. Just be careful of used cars in a couple months, some will be cleaned and titles washed and sent to auctions. A flood vehicle gets a branded title just like a totalled vehicle which makes it's value less than 50 cents on the dollar.
