I bought one new in that color back in '82. Best car I ever owned.

From my perspective going red would be a huge mistake. It does nothing to accentuate the angles.

I've been keeping an eye out for one myself.

Yea, after seeing some pictures, and showing them to my father, he doesn't like red in this car.
I saw a pic of the original color (not faded) and it looks awesome!
We might keep it the same color after all, and most likely wont even buy those flared fenders either, all because of that picture
Here is the car:

That's the one. Mine came with optional alloys that were more linear/geometric which really completed the look. The ones in those pictures are too curvy and detract from the lines.

You mean these??

We're planning on getting these wheels over others because it will be less expensive than others, and they do go with the car very well

That's not them either. I've looked around on-line and couldn't find them. I did a quick search and don't know where that vintage photo album is. They were pretty rare, I only saw them on a handful of '82/3 Celicas.

BTW, those look fine and I think that was one of the options for the GT-S.

Yup, I see them around abondend cars as well... and they look awesome in this car, imo.
We also need to get the black door guards to add some black accents

A friend of mine had an '85 Supra and I really liked that car. That 6 could really rev and it was smooth as silk. You never felt even the slightest bit of vibration from it. The car could corner like a champ, I took several on ramps at 65 with no problem. It wasn't a huge power buldge but the power was delivered very smoothly and without any issues. It was a nice car.

Well, my dad just got his car back from his friend's paint place.
He got it painted the original color, but with a twist! Black over the hood, roof, and rear hatch. $400
He was able to find the wheels we wanted for $20 each, w/ tires

pics once we get our main computer going

You know what?
This computer has a USB drive... not a 2.0, but it should be enough.
I'll get them once I get the chance
