I'll give you that on the plus side its got a 6.1-liter HEMI engine in it putting out 425hp. On the downside, however, its a Dodge and I've never had good luck with anything made by Chrysler.

Personally, I am a big fan of the old Chargers, but this new one looks nothing like them. Also, it isn't going to be any faster, or handle any better than the Mustang, so what exactly do you think will make it better? The fact that is costs more?

Personally the Charger is growing on me, especially the SRT version. If I was a family man looking for a fast ride, i'd consider it. Its also built in my hometown
Lets try this in General Vehicle Discussion

Troll,
Educated discourse on this subject is welcome. Better be prepared to support your argument or you will only diminish your standing on this board. With that said, the charger is a nice car. It has too many doors, too expensive and it's no Charger but give it another name and it should find a place in the market. Every Charger guy I have talked to is ticked off after seeing what a tribute car like the Mustang car really be. Dodge missed the boat as far as linking this thing to a name with a proud heritage.

The darn thing is a rolling identity crisis: look at it from three different angles, it looks like three different cars... short nose like its been kicked in.... like an unwanted brother of a 300.....
If it was a car on its own without the name, then maybe I'd give it more of a break. But that thing is no Charger.
Thing weighs as much as an M1A1 too so it sure needs that Hemi horsepower.....
Not a fan here.......

The rest of your post was accurate too.
The Mustang has been the only car so far that nails the retro styling imo. There will always be a more powerful and faster car but I bought the 05 Mustang because of how it looks and the fact that it has 300 hp and good handling was a bonus!
That black SRT Charger looks good, but I think it may be the angle. The rear angle and that top view angle are awesome, but once you see the side or quarter front view, the front looks too much like a truck.
I want to like the new Charger but I just can't bring myself to do it. All of Dodge's vehicles have the same look and its getting annoying. No originality at all.
Of course the Viper is the exception.
