I'm amused that they were so intent on ripping off the BMW 1-Series that they copied (most of) the name.

At any rate, this and the other Chevy concept don't even have interiors as far as I can tell, let alone functional anything. They look like something the head office ordered cranked out at the last minute to generate some NAIAS buzz. Oh I'm sure a driveable version of one or both may make the rounds in a couple months, but nothing about either of those says "brand strategy concept" to me.

For some reason there is a Corvette badge on it.

Looks terrible. Kinda like what I expected the production Camaro to look like...but after putting a concept into a movie for 3 years, how can you tell everyone that it's gonna look that bad in production???

I love the idea of a small, cheap-ish RWD car. I like the rear, the profile's not bad, but the front end needs work.

I hope Chevy progress with this.

I'm down. Nice to see something that isn't bloated in size these days

That Tru 140S is a redo of a Pontiac Arrowhead scale model styling proposal that was snapped in GM's styling studio...

Arin I think history is repeating itself... I think we are reliving 1974 when sporty American cars shrunk into Pinto and Vega size (Mustang II and Monza) and received 4-cyl. engines to compete with the popular Capri, Celica and Datsun 240Z... If you think about it the current youth market is probably once again looking for sporty good looks and good economy in an affordable package. There must also be plenty of people tired of being confined to boring non-personal 4-door sedans and weening off the tired SUV phase.

I am afraid though Ford will do everything it can to protect the Mustang by never producing a smaller companion sports coupe with radical styling. Ford will do nothing more than produce a 2-box Focus ST, and you know it will only be 5-doors. What I can see is the next Mustang possibly shrinking enough in size that it will be able to better compete with the round of smaller sporty vehicles coming to market, including the next Camaro which will be Alpha based. I would also expect the re-entry of a 4-cyl. Mustang choice.

And ten thousand ten thousand angry Nova fans would like to have a word with you, those guys are touchy about the name Nova after GM's last debacle using the Nova name.

I'm pretty sure Nova guys would want to follow GM's original game plan and base the Nova off of the Camaro (remember after 67 IIRC the Nova was based on Camaro mechanicals).

Great chassis - virtual pivot front with a 5 link rear and comparitively lightweight but being based on alpha makes you wonder how much power GM is going to install. The ATS right now only has a 318hp V6 as its top engine choice and no word on a V version (which I suppose if it ever rolls around will show the upper power limit of the chassis).

The 130R Concept is a very interesting concept even if I do have some quibbles about specific design elements. I see it as a neo BMW 2002 more than anything else, which would be a fantastic thing, even BMW's current "small" sedan, its 1-Series, is a bit weighty. Make this thing light, simple and RWD -- sort of in the vain of that new Subaru/Toyota coupe -- and plug in the 260hp turbo 4 and viola, instant win.

As for the "Corvette" flags, those were actually used on a lot of Chevy performance models many moons ago but has dwindled down to only the Vette lately. Perhaps this is a hint of a more concerted and coordinated attempt at performance models across the many and varied product lines Chevy has.

granted, this would need some design tweeks to pull off the Nova effectively, but it has the basics down, a smaller 2 door rwd car.
